Just by that, virtue will diminish, vows will be broken, and the rain of afflictions will fall. In the Tantra of the Source of Ambrosia, it says: "If you revile the Vajra Master, avert it with peaceful or wrathful actions. If you do not have the ability, purify it by remembering the earrings. Do not associate with them, do not speak to them. If you become intimate with them, you will be tormented in the lower realms." Therefore, from the path of mantra, it is also shown as a field of liberation. For Bodhisattvas who do not possess such abilities or who are fond of the asceticism of patience, they should cover their ear consciousness with the memory of the faults of reviling the Guru, like covering the ears with their hands, and they should keep far away from intimacy and conversation. To all beings, represented by those who are close, be as comfortable to be around as a belt, as easy to blend in as salt, and as patient as a pillar. Cherish the Guru's retinue and Vajra brothers. In this way, for those who hold the Guru's lineage, or who uphold all the practices of the vows, or who hold the empowerment's support as close attendants, and the groups of disciples and patrons, in short, do not act contrary to everything that is held in the Guru's heart. In the General Sutra, it says: "Treat his close attendants as holy beings, treat his servants as relatives, and always look upon them with an equal mind." Therefore, for those who are close to the Guru, treat them as the Guru, and for the retinue and disciples, treat them as relatives, and remember and cherish them. Do not take on all the burdens, be as comfortable to be around as a belt, blend in with all sizes, high and low, as easily as salt, and endure all sorrows and wrongdoings like a pillar, and you need to be close within the retinue. Because they also bear the burdens of serving the Guru, preparing food and drink, and entertaining guests, we are able to live in comfort, and this is to repay their kindness. In short, if you annoy the attendants, the interdependent connections that temporarily connect inside and outside will also depend on them. Therefore, in the Tantra of Accomplishing Wisdom, it also says: "Abandon the Guru's possessions and retinue, and the greed that annoys the attendants." To taste the flavor of the virtues of the holy ones with gentle conduct and faith is like a goose relying on a supreme pond,

As bees taste the essence of flowers, The conduct of constant companionship is wondrous. Without weariness, holding the Guru's heart, Experiencing qualities through faithful closeness. Thus, faith is the gateway to the appearance of Dharma. One should prostrate to the Guru, request blessings, rise, join palms, and so forth. The Vinaya of the Holy Dharma also states, "As soon as one sees the Khenpo, one should rise from the seat." It is said that if one sits indifferently, one will be born as a blind person for five hundred lifetimes, as stated in the Hundred Karmas Sutra. Therefore, one should not regard reverence and service as worldly displays of superiority or inferiority. In the Ornament of Realization, it says, "By escorting and welcoming the Guru, one obtains the benefit of having hands and feet adorned with the marks of the wheel." Because this is solely for one's own benefit, and there is no dependence on the Guru whatsoever. Therefore, with unwavering faith and reverence, focusing solely on liberation and the state of omniscience, one should serve the Guru. As the scriptures gather together, one should offer service, reverence, offerings, remembrance, inquire about illness, provide medicine, and create images. In short, dedicating one's body to the Guru, prostrating, circumambulating, offering incense, flowers, lamps, and other external offerings, the Ganachakra and other internal offerings, as well as offerings of realization, Samadhi, wisdom, and composing treatises. Protecting against obstacles such as fire, water, weapons, poison, and wild animals. Running errands for the Guru in various places, obeying the Guru's commands, performing immediate and necessary services, comfortably escorting and welcoming the Guru, taking care of the room, bedding, utensils, and surroundings. Arranging banners and curtains in the Dharma hall, and even pointing the pillow towards the Guru when sleeping. When eating and drinking, offering the essence of the food with gratitude. When wearing new clothes, also facing the Guru and making offerings. Covering the mouth when yawning or sneezing. When hearing the Guru's teachings, joining palms and respectfully replying, "I will follow your instructions."

It also says from there, "Say 'please instruct as taught,' and accept what is said with folded hands." Likewise, protect the lama's property as you would your life, and whatever you do, inform the lama and ask for permission. If you are not close to the lama, whatever you do, think that it is done by the lama's command. Know the meaning of "difficult to mention the name," and do not call the lama's name directly. If you must mention it, add a related praise such as "mentioning the name for the sake of meaning." In the Gongdü it says, "Never mention the name, but say 'holy lama, spiritual friend,' and add a respectful word at the end of the name." In particular, the basis of the lower vehicle is to bestow vows and teach the Dharma, and the basis of the higher vehicle is empowerment and consecration, etc., which are the activities of the khenpo and vajra master, and it is not permissible to do them without permission. The Wheel of Nirvana Sutra says, "Do not gather disciples, and teaching the Dharma, empowerment, consecration, and fire offerings, etc., should be done after asking for permission." Therefore, doing things for others without permission is the work of demons. As it says in the Gongdü, "Mandala and other fire offerings, taking disciples and teaching the Dharma, do not start without permission, it is not allowed in the holy land." It also says, "A disciple of a holy person is also not allowed to be a disciple of a holy person." If time and place do not allow, then the sutra says, "If you do things for others, do not make those implements, all of those should be offered to the holy person." Like that. At the time of the lama's passing, make great offerings to the relics, purify sins with pure generosity of the three wheels, universally arrange clouds of offerings, fiercely confess broken vows, make great aspirations, make great offerings mainly to fulfill the lama's wishes, do not interrupt the offerings on the date of the lama's passing, save the lives of sentient beings, give to the poor, etc., in all situations praise the lama's qualities, teach the Dharma from the aspect of great wisdom, or for worldly matters, for those things that are obviously inappropriate, first guide the way of speaking, and then explain the reason.
