To take on responsibilities, one should personally perform services, prepare seats, dust, act as a messenger, engage in crafts, handle residence affairs, and even carry things and welcome guests. If one's own body is capable, that is the best. If not, since one's body has already been offered, one should cultivate the understanding of not owning oneself, and accomplish tasks by paying for them, or by hiring others to accomplish various fields of knowledge. Or, things that one absolutely cannot accomplish, one must accomplish oneself. Or, as it says in the "Fifty Verses on the Guru": "For what you cannot do, train with words." Like this, one should carefully consider all the circumstances of cause and condition, and then obtain permission. Such merit is immeasurable. As Yeshe Gyatso said: "Whoever for the guru's activity, is a fortunate one of the wise, to all the Buddhas of the three times, in six million eons, performing prostrations, this is of great significance. If one acts as the guru instructs, all wishes will be fulfilled, and immeasurable merit will be obtained. Whoever with their own wealth and implements, pleases the guru, this one from the three realms of samsara, in the nirmanakaya's pure land rests, and goes to the place of nirvana." Thus. Therefore, relying on these two methods of service or offering, grasp the guru's intention, and properly understand the profound and vast Dharma, and ultimately please the guru with the offering of practice alone. As it says in the "General Sutra": "The past holy Sugatas, having pleased the excellent guide, went to the end of secluded monasteries, from themselves pleasing the excellent one." Thus. Here, the latter excellent one refers to the meaning of having attained the wisdom of complete liberation. As the previous text said: "Just as an intelligent child, bound by a binding chain, when released becomes easy and free, and can go without any obstruction. This intelligent faculty of the mind, bound by the bonds of ignorance, when the holy one opens the door of liberation, the lineage of knowledge is completely liberated, and goes without obstruction." This is what is said in the sixty-seventh chapter. To show how to prevent the faults of one's own perceptions, one should not view any actions as wrong, the lords of the noble land are mostly outcasts, paupers, and those of evil conduct.
