The bottom of a huge snow mountain where even a place to put a mandala base cannot be found, and an unbearable ravine. In a dark place mixed with snow, rain, and blizzards, the touch of the indescribably sharp and biting wind penetrates deep into the bones, causing the body to curl up, even beyond the state of being able to move. However, one still perceives the feeling of suffering and does not escape the state of being alive. The distinctions between each are: those with blisters and those with burst blisters, those who utter the lament of "Ah Chu" and whose teeth chatter. Like an Utpala (藏文:ཨུཏྤ་ལ་,梵文天城体:utpala,梵文罗马拟音:utpala,汉语字面意思:乌 উৎপལ་), the skin cracks into six petals; like a lotus and a great lotus, wounds that crack into eight and sixteen petals, even countless ones, are pecked and eaten by sharp-beaked creatures. As it is said, those with blisters are filled with blisters due to extreme cold; similarly, blisters burst and turn into wounds; after turning into wounds, they continuously utter the lament of "Ah Chu," and only let out a long sigh of "Kyi Hud," with a broken tone of voice, and even unable to utter it, their teeth chatter. Creatures born from those wounds use their sharp beaks to peck, like an Utpala (藏文:ཨུཏྤ་ལ་,梵文天城体:utpala,梵文罗马拟音:utpala,汉语字面意思:乌 উৎপལ་), the skin cracks into six petals, like a lotus, it cracks into eight petals, and like a great lotus, it doubles and triples, cracking into countless petals, from which pus, fat, and even bone marrow drip. Sent to the student: The indescribable wind penetrates even into the bones, causing the body to curl up, tremble, and huddle together. Creatures born from a hundred blisters that have burst peck with swords, dripping fat, pus, and bone marrow. Teeth chatter from the cold, hair and down stand on end, eyes and ears are harmed, causing torment, and the space between body and mind is completely confused, dwelling in the hell of cold and crying out in extreme pain. In the Indian commentary, it is said: Those with blisters are the three and a half syllables of "wind"; those with burst blisters are the two and a half syllables of "burst"; those whose teeth chatter are the one verse of "frozen." Although it is not said so, the three aspects such as cracking like an Utpala (藏文:ཨུཏྤ་ལ་,梵文天城体:utpala,梵文罗马拟音:utpala,汉语字面意思:乌 উৎপལ་) indicate that they are caused by creatures pecking with their beaks, and the space between body and mind is completely confused, so that the mind

The sound of "hu" arising from extreme suffering, and the sound of "Achu" coming from shouting, indicate that they are shouting forcefully. Regarding their lifespan, it is mentioned in the Mindfulness Sutra: For example, using the measuring units of the city of Kosala, a large container that can hold twenty units of sesame seeds is completely filled with sesame seeds without any gaps. From the Blister Hell, one sesame seed is taken out every hundred years until all the seeds are gone. At that time, it can be assumed that the beings in the Blister Hell have ended their lives. The other hells are twenty times more painful than this. The term "increase" here means "transformation." The statement that the lifespan is fixed in this way is the view of the Hinayana. In the view of the Mahayana, a Bodhisattva, such as the hell charioteer Kashyapa Shita, felt compassion for his friend and said, "Put this rope on my neck as well." Because he generated the Bodhicitta of enduring the suffering of others, the hell guard angrily struck his head with an iron hammer, causing him to die suddenly. Similarly, for those who generate strong antidotes, like the daughter of the merchant friend, the lifespan is uncertain. Furthermore, for those who slander the Vajra Master, abandon the Dharma, etc., there is a possibility that they will not transfer for many great kalpas, because beings with strong karmic obscurations will not die even from such intense suffering. The Suhrllekha says: "Such suffering is unbearable, even if experienced hundreds of millions of times, as long as the non-virtue is not exhausted, one will not be separated from life." Now, in order to explain the ephemeral hells, there is a verse that says: "Burning coal heaps are cut off and wrapped in places without doors, doors, pillars, stoves, ropes, etc., in the self-nature of various karmic manifestations, it is impossible to know when the suffering will end." Ephemeral hells refer to uncertain places such as rocks, water, trees, fire, and sky, where the lifespan and suffering are also uncertain. They may be gathered together, may exist alone, or may exist in small quantities. Because they are tormented unbearably by any kind of suffering such as cold, heat, hunger, thirst, cutting, chopping, beating, fighting, cooking, etc., they are called ephemeral hells.
