Treating life cruelly, causing great suffering to body and mind, is like the collapse of a resting place for a person burdened by heavy weight. Also, the suffering of separation from loved ones. Arranging the gathering and scattering of love and hate in new environments, the image of an ascetic withered by sorrow, being controlled by the daughter of Norzang the Gandharva, is a longer path than traversing a violent road. If one is separated from parents who love and benefit oneself, or from close friends who are dear to one's heart, remembering their virtues, conduct, and expressions, the mind is extremely saddened, and this painful asceticism is even longer than the path of a young man Norzang being bound by the bonds of the Gandharva's daughter, traversing a violent road. As it is said in the "Wish-Fulfilling Vine": Those beings who cherish the taste of worldly pleasures, tormented by all kinds of ignorance! Alas, how difficult it is to turn away from the comfort of home and renounce it! And: The particles clinging to the rainbow, harmful and unpleasant, difficult to endure, are inevitably difficult to avoid, and are always deceived by various changes. And: That deer-eyed one, deprived of its master, like a female dove perched under the eaves, wails in a place with eaves, not sleeping, is it not so? Because the asceticism burned by the fire of attachment, its suffering is difficult to bear. So it is said. The suffering of being afflicted by desire is: Those who are afflicted by desire and poverty, due to hunger and thirst and the hope and fear of unfulfilled wishes, are completely dominated by others, their bodies and speech barely surviving, this suffering is like that of a hungry ghost wandering on the earth. As long as there is no contentment and no aversion arises towards the faults of desire, then being bound to the world by the hope and fear of unfulfilled wishes is the natural order. The poor and lowly are extremely distressed by food, clothing, shelter, and so on, and cannot even protect their parents, children, and relatives. In addition, they must pay taxes, rent, and rations, living a life of suffering in which their bodies and speech barely survive, but they still do not change this situation. As mentioned earlier: Just as a stone strikes quickly, people grieve for suffering, but they do not take action again to avoid that terrible poverty. Now, these sufferings

In order to show that the basis of everything is the five aggregates of clinging. Form is characterized by holding, feeling by knowing its own nature, conception makes it continuous, action creates seeds in the future, and consciousness is the basis for experiencing suffering. These five aggregates are the source, basis, and container of all suffering. Knowing the master of all causes and effects, one should abandon all arising karma and afflictions. Thus, form or the conception of form is the basis of all suffering. Feeling can distinguish its own nature. Conception connects like a thread and continues. Action creates the seeds of all future suffering. Consciousness is the receiver of everything. Thus, it is said in the Madhyamaka Sutra: "Subhuti, the five aggregates of clinging are the place of all suffering because they are tainted, the basis of all suffering, and the source of all suffering." Therefore, one should be disgusted with the nature of the five aggregates of clinging, that is, the truth of suffering of birth, the nature of samsara, and abandon the truth of origin, that is, the craving for existence, and the joy and attachment that come with it, the joy that arises from existence, and all the unwholesome actions that arise from karma and afflictions. Having abandoned them in this way, the practitioner of the middle path, riding the chariot of the four noble truths, attains the truth of cessation, enters the state of nirvana, and obtains the supreme fruit of liberation. It is said: "The cessation of all arising is liberation, and liberation must depend on the truth of the path." As it is said in the Letter to a Friend: "Birth is suffering, craving is its vast origin, the cessation of this is liberation, and the method to obtain this liberation is the eightfold noble path." That is, right view, the wisdom without outflows; right livelihood, abandoning flattery and wrong livelihood; right effort, that is, diligence, which is also the four right abandonments; right mindfulness, not forgetting the object of focus, that is, abiding in right mindfulness on body, feeling, mind, and phenomena.
