Among the seven great mountain ranges, the Asuras could not surpass. From the positions of the sun and moon, Vajras, wheels, arrows, pestles, and Mount Meru, etc., were thrown, thereby destroying the Asuras. The Asuras also came with elephants, horses, chariots, and a fourfold army, striving to destroy the gods with Vajras, great maces, Shakti weapons, Mount Meru, wheels, etc. However, the chariot of Takshasari, which was seven yojanas in size and moved swiftly, could also be seized by Indra's left hand. Those who hurled Mount Meru were also shattered into pieces by Indra's Vajra, falling into the Rakshasa Sea, causing many creatures to die, and the Rakshasa Sea turned red. At that time, the gods, except for having their heads cut off, could quickly regenerate other severed limbs and were without wounds. The Asuras, however, like humans, would die if their vital points were struck. Even so, according to the scriptures, Rahu's body was severed, so it is not reasonable to apply this logic to other Asuras. At that time, the lands shook. The Mount Merus of weapons turned to dust, causing the sky, including Jambudvipa, to be covered with dust. The radiance of armor gleamed, and great sounds resounded. Since Rahu is an animal, its eyes could not bear the rays of the sun and moon, so it covered them with its hands. Therefore, it is said in the *Satipatthana Sutra* that the sun and moon are obscured by Rahu. In the Kalachakra and other tantras, it is believed that the sun and moon are obscured by the head and tail, so it is also called the entry of the fire of time. Some scriptures say that it is swallowed into the throat. At that time, the merits differ. The *Moon Treasury Sutra* says that when the sun and moon are obscured, the moon undergoes a hundred thousand changes, and the sun undergoes a billion changes. Nevertheless, the causes of shaking, sounds, and light, as well as the obscuration of the sun and moon, arise from the bodhisattva's earth trembling, birth, passing away, etc., as well as great acts of good and non-good, the miraculous manifestations of the Buddha's emanations, the vast expansion of the heavenly realms, and incidental events of battle. The obscuration of the sun and moon is also determined through the Kalachakra and astrological calculations, so one should correctly understand the distinction between direct and indirect meanings.

O! Similarly, earthquakes, as previously stated, arise from good and non-good deeds. Furthermore, the notion of a large fish devouring Rakshasas is akin to worldly rumors. Among these, the cause of the gods' victory is that people act according to Dharma, regard their father as father, their mother as mother, and view Shramanas and Brahmins accordingly. This is the custom of our teacher. The auspicious signs of victory also manifest in the world, such as rainfall, good harvests, and the absence of diseases. If Asuras were to win, the opposite would occur, therefore one should always have faith in the law of karma. Generally, by the power of merit, the gods mostly prevail. However, when the world temporarily fails due to the cause of non-virtuous conduct, the armies of the Asuras depart as if fleeing to the summit of Mount Sumeru, blocking roads with ornate cities, closing windows, and dwelling for seven days. At this time, a great drum sound from the heavens proclaims: 'The gods will be victorious! The Asuras will be defeated! Drive out the animals!' As soon as the sound arises, the armies of the Asuras will scatter. Then, wives look into the mirror-like lakes and see the images of their husbands being killed, weeping and grieving. When the Asuras are defeated, the hosts of gods chase them as if they were fleeing into the hollows of Mount Sumeru, until they reach the golden ground. They close the gates of the golden city, shut the windows, and after seven days have passed, if they hear the sound 'The Asuras are victorious! The gods are defeated!' the gods will return to their own abodes. Thus, when fighting with opposing forces, one hears sounds like disheveled hair in the center of the sky, a dense and heavy rain of weapons falls, the splendor of the gods shines, and great winds scatter projectiles. Those of lesser power faint and fall due to fear, as if their hearts were splitting, and again suffer the pain of being expelled from their own abodes. Those whose heads and limbs are severed suffer the pain of having no hope of survival, and their own camps also fight and quarrel, always seeing the bliss and prosperity of the Thirty-Three (त्रायस्त्रिंश,trāyastriṃśa,Thirty-Three), and therefore feel anger and jealousy.
