I, regarding those who are possessed by others like wives, teaching the dharma of sexual conduct to anyone. Arising from men, it refers to sexual intercourse with other men's mouths and excretory passages, etc. Arising from animals, it refers to the genitals and excretory passages, etc., of that animal. Arising from boys and girls, it refers to forcing those who are unable to engage in sexual activity and are not under the control of their parents to engage in sexual intercourse with their mouths, excretory passages, and genitals. These acts of sexual misconduct are perfected through three branches: recognizing the place and time, engaging in sexual intercourse, and experiencing the feelings that follow. These are as mentioned in the Sutra of the Ten Virtuous Paths of Action. If we follow the words of our own tradition, obtaining a reward means: being possessed by others after being paid a reward, and giving rewards to prostitutes, etc., whether decorated with marks or not, being protected by place and time for a long time. Non-congruent refers to all non-copulatory places, other than the senses. As stated in the commentary on the Treasury of Knowledge: the senses of the limbs, one's own efforts, etc. The teacher Ashvaghosa said: What is called a non-copulatory place is: possessed by others, possessing the banner of the Dharma, protected by lineage, protected by the king, prostitutes taken by others, and having relations with relatives, etc., these are non-copulatory places. Therefore, although explained in a way that is different from the limbs, the Chinese treatises are also consistent in meaning, but the way of applying names is different. Here, the actions of body and speech are physical, so it goes without saying that one does it oneself. Even if one participates in the discussion of others' actions and the ideas are the same, there is no difference from the actor. As stated in the Treasury of Knowledge: For the same purpose as war, etc., all are like actors. Even so, there is no fault for those who are insane, mentally disturbed, and tormented by feelings. Similarly, if the four, namely the basis, intention, action, and completion, are not complete, then that action is not complete, and this method applies to all situations. The four of speech are lying, deceiving others. Confusing the perception of non-congruent, deceiving the minds of others. Sowing discord separates those who are discordant or in a neutral state. Using non-congruent words of fault, repeating the faults of others, creating hatred.

Idle talk generates attachment and aversion; concordant speech is unrelated to war and theft. Harsh words pierce the hearts of others, and concordant speech brings discomfort to others. The four verbal transgressions also have two aspects: direct and concordant. Direct lying is perfected by four branches: the basis of speech is not mistaken, holding in mind the intention and view to deceive others, speaking untruthfully, and altering their understanding. The great teacher Blo-gros-chen-po said: Speaking about doubtful things as if they are certain is also lying. The so-called 'basis not mistaken' means that oneself is not a noble being, nor does one have clairvoyance, and without concealing this from oneself, one directly speaks untruths, saying 'I am such,' or writing it in letters, or making bodily gestures, so that others understand and mistakenly believe one to be a noble being or to have clairvoyance, thus altering their understanding. This is a great lie, known as the supreme deception of human dharma. Concordant speech refers to speaking with false words that appear upright, knowing that they will deceive others. Slander is perfected by three branches: the basis of division is people who are friendly to each other or who are neutral, speaking divisive words, and ultimately achieving the purpose of division. Lying and slander have similar circumstances, but the difference lies in that lying is with the intention to deceive, while slander is with the intention to divide. Concordant speech refers to repeatedly speaking about things that are displeasing to each other. Idle talk refers to speech that does not belong to any of the above three, spoken with a mind of affliction, and even if others understand the ultimate meaning of these three, it still counts as idle talk, as explained in the commentaries on both the 'Friendly Letter' and the 'Ratnavali.' Thus, the monk Chos-ldan Rab-'byor-dbyangs also said that idle talk is perfected by two branches: having thoughts about things that are not dharma, and speaking idle talk. Therefore, considering things that are not dharma as dharma and then speaking idle talk includes offerings, praises, declarations, etc., as well as the secret mantras of Brahmins, love songs, theatrical words, prostitutes' talk, and the five foundations praised in ancient India.
