Speaking about the assembly of quiescence. If one relies on the teachings of the Tathagata, even deeds of immediate retribution can arise. As it says in the Suhrllekha (Friendly Epistle): 'Whoever was formerly heedless, but later becomes diligent, is as beautiful as the moon freed from clouds, like Nanda, Angulimala, Drsta, and Bhadrakara.' This is taught. Among them, Nanda was a young man of the Shakya clan, full of desire. If he was separated from his wife Pundarika, he would not experience joy for even a moment. Although he was ordained by the Tathagata, day and night he only thought of his breasts, not of the Dharma. Even so, the Teacher, with skillful means, led him to the realms of gods and hells, showed him the impermanence of heavenly bliss, and ultimately led him to the attainment of the Arhat state. Angulimala was the son of a Brahmin, like an ordinary person in the world, both brave and foolish. He listened to the evil teacher's teaching that 'what is not Dharma can become Dharma,' and killed nine hundred and ninety-nine people, adorning his body with garlands made of each finger. He was also ordained by the Teacher and liberated from the desires of the three realms. Drsta is Ajatashatru, who was filled with hatred and met with unwholesome friends, and due to past grudges, killed his father, King Bimbisara, who possessed the Dharma. His descendant, Bhadrakara, also due to improper attention, killed his own mother because of adultery with another's wife. Both of them, relying solely on the teachings of the Tathagata, were liberated like a ball thrown out of hell, and ultimately experienced the bliss of the heavenly realms. Therefore, in every way, taming the mind is the essence of the key instructions. As the Venerable One said: 'You should tame your mind, the Blessed One has said: The mind is the root of all dharmas.' As it is said, the mind is the forerunner of all dharmas, therefore virtuous thoughts should be as firm as a drawing on a stone, and non-virtuous thoughts should be like a drawing on water, with regret and repentance, disappearing immediately. As Aryadeva said: The mind is like water, earth, and stone, drawn on

It should be reasoned in this way. Among them, for those with afflictions, the first is supreme, and for those who desire the Dharma, the last is supreme. Thus it is said. Now, in order to avert those undesirable results, the nature of the ten virtues is explained. Therefore, in the impure state of Other-powered (Paratantra), the ten virtuous paths of action that lead to higher realms, one should diligently practice the ten virtuous deeds that turn away from the ten non-virtuous deeds. By practicing the ten virtues, one can be led to good destinies by ten corresponding merits, and by the ten non-virtues, one can be led to bad destinies. To adopt or reject the causes and effects of black and white karma is the path of the lesser person. In this regard, in the treatises of the Yogachara school, the three great ultimates of the Completely Imagined, the Other-powered, and the Thoroughly Established are explained. Among them, the Completely Imagined refers to that which does not actually exist in any entity, but is falsely imputed by conceptual thought, such as the horns of a rabbit, and the grasping of self in what is selfless, and all evil tenets that are similar to this, and all that, no matter what is designated as "this is the appearance of meaning," is merely self-conceit and does not exist in the realm of its own character and reality. In the treatises of the Yogachara school, it is said: The Completely Imagined, is non-existent, yet arises from the delusion of conceptual thought. And so on. The Other-powered is divided into two: the impure Other-powered and the pure Other-powered. The impure Other-powered refers to: due to the increased habituation of the traces of illusion, the arising of the forms of the environment and beings such as earth, stones, mountains, etc., and all the high and low places that appear from the impure illusions that arise in each of the sense gates. The pure Other-powered refers to: the pure realms that appear in the self-manifest pure realms, and in the pure vision of the Buddhas, and the forms that appear as palaces, etc. The debate about the unreasonableness of the Other-powered has already been well refuted by the Completely Perfect Buddha Immaculate Light. The Thoroughly Established is divided into two: unchanging and non-inverted. The first is: like this is illusion, like this is not illusion, without these two situations, the emptiness that is the nature of all phenomena, the self-existing Dharma nature, without the past, present, and future three times, the unchanging ultimate reality of nature. In this regard, three types are established: self-empty, other-empty, and both-empty. Self-
