Therefore, since the beings of this continent initially originated from this, it is known as the foundation of karma. At that time, since there were no towns and people, there was no distinction between gods and humans. Those beings, like the gods of the form realm, possessed luminous bodies, beautiful forms, pleasing to the eye, with beautiful senses and limbs, able to walk and dwell in the sky, able to go wherever they wished with just a thought, enjoying happiness as food, without male or female distinctions, and without manifest afflictions. This is called the first kalpa, and those beings were also called sentient beings, possessing merits almost equal to the gods. After a long time had passed, the sound of "invisible" was heard seven times from the sky, and therefore they were named humans. At that time, the previous good kalpa began to decline, and merit and light also decreased, and latent afflictions were close to arising. That is, from immeasurable lifespan to eighty thousand years, the height of mature individuals was also thirty-two cubits. Gradually decreasing to twenty cubits, sixteen cubits, eight cubits. At the age of one hundred years, the height was four cubits, and now it has decreased to two and a half cubits. Similarly, until the age of ten, both lifespan and body size decreased. Likewise, the body's light, radiance, and glory also diminished. The people of Jambudvipa (Southern Continent) multiplied for a long time, and the light also disappeared, and merit gradually decreased. The height of the people who descended from the gods in the Eastern Continent of Superior Body was eight cubits, and they could live for two hundred and fifty years. After that, unpleasant sounds originated from the Thirty-Three Heavens (Trayastrimsa), with a height of thirty-two cubits, a lifespan of one thousand years, and no untimely death. Those who speak the language of the Piśācas, because their voices are unpleasant, are also called unpleasant. A dry tree falls in seven days, and the person also dies and is born in the Thirty-Three Heavens (Trayastrimsa). Similarly, the Western Continent of Enjoyment of Cattle also descended from the gods, with a height of sixteen cubits and a lifespan of five hundred years. The people of each small continent also gradually originated. The appearances of the people of the four continents are also similar to the shapes of their respective continents. For example, Jambudvipa (Southern Continent) is triangular, so the faces and bodies of the people are also triangular.

is in the shape of . Similarly, the sky of each continent also corresponds to the color of Mount Meru. The etymology of this continent is: it is so called because it is adorned nearby by the tree called Jambūtriśa. To the north of the Vajra Throne (Bodh Gaya), there are nine black mountains, and further north is the king of snow mountains, Mount Tise (Mount Kailash). To the north of Mount Tise is Mount Incense Fragrance. Between the north of the snow mountain and the south of Mount Incense Fragrance, there is the great Lake Manasarovar, which exists together with the Dragon King and others. In that lake, the stems of the lotuses are as thick as plow shafts, and the petals are as large as elephant hides, together with various kinds of water birds. Because it does not possess miraculous powers, it is difficult to traverse. At the foot of that snow mountain, there is a golden bird's nest made of rock, with caves for five hundred Arhats, and a place called "Face of the Asura," with a water surface fifty yojanas wide, which is the abode of Indra's elephant, Well-Dwelling. There, there is the king of trees, Well-Dwelling, surrounded by seven rows of tala trees, and a pond called "Slowly Dripping," formed by the slow dripping of water when that elephant plays, surrounded by a retinue of five hundred pond attendants. On this, there are various kinds of studies in the Tibetan treatises, because the scriptures say that there are five different castes in the snowy region, and the Great Commentary on the Abhidharma also elucidates this, so it cannot be generalized. On the shore of Lake Manasarovar, there are rocks of various shapes. From the mouth of an elephant on the east side flows the Ganges, which circles Lake Manasarovar seven times and flows into the eastern ocean together with five hundred tributaries. Similarly, from the mouth of a bull king on the south side flows the Sindhu River, from the mouth of a horse king on the west side flows the Pakshu River, and from the mouth of a lion on the north side flows the Sita River, all flowing into the oceans in their respective directions as before. In some places it is said that the great river Lohita flows from the mouth of a horse king on the east side, carrying silver sand; the Ganges flows from the mouth of an elephant on the south side, carrying golden sand; the Sindhu flows from the mouth of a peacock on the west side, carrying sand of various jewels; and the Pakshu flows from the mouth of a lion on the north side, carrying diamond sand, all flowing in after circling as before. On the right bank of that lake, there is the Jambūtriśa tree, with a wide trunk and delicious fruits, which ripen and fall into the lake, turning into the gold of the Jambū River, which is the refined product of ordinary gold after being smelted sixteen times.
