Nothing is allowed to enter, and what has already entered vanishes like mist. Instructions that are not practiced and are accompanied by doubt do not benefit either oneself or others. This is like the hunter hunting a wild boar in the story of the Brahmin woman. Faith that applies to the true meaning, desire that accomplishes this life as it appears, and the neutral one who is noncommittal to both, cherish the examination of the characteristics of abiding in these three. In general, merely following the Dharma is not certain, because there are three types of entering: entering through faith, entering through desire, and entering through non-commitment. Entering through faith is: knowing that the lama and the sacred Dharma are mutually dependent in nature, and having renunciation, delighting in supports and offerings, offering to the Three Jewels, being generous in giving, and genuinely engaging in listening, contemplation, and meditation with the motivation of faith, such a person benefits both oneself and others in the short and long term. Entering through desire is: relying on the lama and the Dharma for a while with the bad motivation of the pleasures and fame of this life and attachment and aversion, but not trusting in the thought and meditation that will surely liberate from samsara, but seeking gain by relying on empowerment or transmission, various activities that are not motivated by the thought of benefiting others, or engaging in poisonous listening and thinking that are completely taken up with arrogance and jealousy, having no interest in offering to the Three Jewels and the generation and completion stages, but being pleased with offerings and ornaments, these are called greedy ones who deceive both themselves and others. Entering through non-commitment is: foolish neutral ones who do not rely on either of the above two, like having neither faith nor desire in the Dharma, like a monkey's meditation and a parrot's mantra, they merely imitate how others do things and enter by chance, never taking any vows or precepts, like a stray dog wandering in a crossroads. Therefore, the first should be followed without reservation, and the latter two should be transformed into the correct path through various methods and interdependent connections, and cherished as objects to be tamed in the future through a special connection of aspiration. These have explained the different aspects of students, and

At the beginning of the examination of the qualities, the characteristics of distinction are explained: Armor is vast and wisdom is extremely stable, Not regarding body and life, one performs service, Whatever is said is revered, not protecting oneself, That person is liberated solely by devotion. Thus, in the profound Sutra Pitaka and, In the Tantra Pitaka, although the characteristics of the guru and disciple, and the essence of practice have been extensively taught, If condensed into one key point, it is this visible logic: It is necessary that a guru who has transcended samsara, whose mindstream is liberated by realization, and who possesses great compassion, A disciple, like Nagarjuna, has great armor of faith, Difficult to be transformed by circumstances, so wisdom is stable, and serving without regard for body and life, like Palgyi Yeshe, Abandoning self-interest, one who reverently obeys whatever is said, if one prays from the heart and the minds of guru and disciple become one, there is no possibility of not being liberated, Why? Because the close reception of blessings and siddhis is not in meditative endurance, But in the complete purity of devotion. It is not in the oral instructions, But in faith. Thus, when Acharya Aryadeva discarded his snot, Nagarjuna picked it up with a cloth and put it in his mouth, and immediately saw the truth of the first bhumi. Palgyi Yeshe killed two prison guards and brought Guru Nyak out of the prison pit, and immediately attained siddhi. Because I saw the teachings of the Second Buddha, I realized that I had never encountered such a profound and vast path before, but because of the arising of inconceivable devotion, the wisdom body manifested directly and took me in. Again, just by generating great devotion enough to give up my life, my mind was forcibly liberated from defilements. Until now, I have prophesied to hundreds and thousands of listeners, Those with meditative endurance do not surpass worldly meditation, Those with wisdom, although they initially see the meaning of no self-nature, if devotion fades, the connection with profound realization is severed. The arising of reality is entirely manifested on the scale of devotion. Thus, in the General Sutra it is said: Lord of Lanka, therefore, mantra is merely the manifestation of self-nature, Of noble beings
