Like an untamed wild yak. In the middle, hating hearing and thinking, striving for this life. Finally, taking the side of sinful friends, acting perversely like a wild man at the edge of the forest. Thus, although the compassion and blessings of the supreme Guru have no partiality or attachment, the unfortunate disciples, with bad lineage and nature, great doubt and arrogance, abandoning shame and embarrassment, with sharp anger and afflictions, increasing cunning and non- Dharma, not caring about vows and commitments, lacking even a small vessel to hold the profound essence of Dharma such as faith, wisdom, diligence, and renunciation, do not see the Guru's qualities. They themselves are not subdued and instead generate all kinds of negative thoughts arising from afflictions, seeing everything as the Guru's fault. If they receive generosity and gain from the Guru's wealth, offerings, and possessions, they will slightly increase their new respect and faith. But that is also conditioned, like the changing of the four seasons, and even morning and evening cannot be determined. To such people, one initially urges diligently: "You will attain happiness in both this life and the next, enter the path of Dharma!" But like approaching an untamed animal, they are startled and flee. In the middle, even if they enter the Dharma, they are annoyed by the very words of hearing, thinking, and meditation, thinking that they have entered the Dharma for the sake of great worldly affairs. Finally, when they develop a slight interest in hearing, thinking, and meditation, attaining merit and great wealth in these three realms is the supreme Dharma itself. Other achievements, such as attaining the position of Brahma and a universal monarch, are not like that. Therefore, the evil demon is deeply distressed, fearing that even if one being in the desire realm becomes a Buddha, his territory will be reduced. When the mind becomes unmanageable, the demon's arrow pierces the heart. As the Vajrasekhara Sutra says: "Obstacles are not elsewhere, one's own mind is the demon." Like this, the first beginning of perverse behavior is when various thoughts arise in the presence of the Guru, and one feels uneasy, thinking that there are places where one can increase virtue more than here, places where one can go to more secluded places than here, thus creating conflict in words and mind, and leaving the Guru and Dharma friends.
