In short, everything in samsara and nirvana has been determined to be the nature of dependent origination. Therefore, this is the precious thing spoken by the Tathagata. Whoever understands this, correctly understands the teachings of the teacher. As the common treatises say, as it is said in the sutras: Bhikshus, whoever understands this sala sapling, understands dependent origination; whoever understands dependent origination, understands the Dharma; whoever understands the Dharma, understands the Buddha. It's like that. Even so, those Hinayana paths are only steps to the Mahayana. As it is said in the Sutra Requested by Light Protector: The emptiness imagined by those people is like the space inside a mustard seed eaten by worms. Also, as it is said in the Mother Sutra: Those who want to attain nirvana in the Hearer's ground should also study the Prajnaparamita. Because, ultimately, through the path of the nature of non-arising, the Great Perfection, one will attain the place of nirvana. Therefore, even so, the karma of high and low, and the laws of black and white cause and effect, which create conditioned existence, transcend all, and the reality of peace and holiness arises from the realization of the nature of non-arising. Thus, the main factor in creating conditioned existence in samsara is the karma arising from ignorance, which leads beings from the peak of existence to the various high and low places between the Avici hell. That is also only posited by inferior wisdom, and the nature of the Dharma, which is not actually established, is not realized as the great peaceful non-arising.

If things are divided into the three times of past, present, and future, and if contact is analyzed and the prior and subsequent moments are distinguished, then the time of stealing is cut off, and therefore things cannot be established. For example, the object of stealing and the consciousness that performs the stealing, etc., are formed by the continuous succession of many moments. If the prior and subsequent moments do not come into contact, the act of stealing cannot occur. For example, when saying "Kailasha," the three moments of the letters are connected sequentially, thus establishing the name of the snow mountain, but if they are not connected, it cannot be established. Therefore, the Root Wisdom says, "If there is no self-nature, what can universally arise? Therefore, for the one who harms emptiness, arising does not exist." Cessation is also negated because suffering and the origin of suffering both lack self-nature. When these two cease, cessation is also negated. If there is no object to be negated, there is no cessation, just as there is no need for medicine when there is no illness. As previously stated, "If suffering exists by its own nature, cessation is not reasonable." The refutation of the path is: if the path is cultivated as the antidote to afflictions, then is it cultivated simultaneously with the afflictions or separately? If cultivated simultaneously, then within one continuum, the object to be abandoned and the antidote are contradictory substances. If cultivated separately, just as a lamp being produced cannot dispel darkness, the antidote to the afflictions being produced cannot overcome the afflictions. As previously stated, "When a lamp is being produced, it does not encounter darkness. How can a lamp being produced dispel darkness? If a lamp can dispel darkness without encountering it, then the one dwelling here could dispel it." The object to be abandoned by the path and the indivisible atom also cannot be established because the prior and subsequent moments do not come into contact. For example, when saying Sa-ra-ha, does the letter "ra" contact the preceding and following letters simultaneously or sequentially? If it contacts them simultaneously, then all things of the three times are simultaneous, and therefore only one moment can exist. If it contacts them sequentially, then the moment of "ra" itself becomes two parts, because it first contacts the preceding one and then contacts "ha." If this is accepted, then the indivisible moment is lost. It is said, "If the prior and subsequent two contact, the time of the moment becomes two parts. If the two are simultaneous, then an eon becomes one moment."
