And, accumulating the seven treasures, eating meat and drinking alcohol, like prostitutes wearing furry clothes and seducing, doing the work of singers and dancers. Like this, after a thousand years, it becomes very chaotic, and my attendants, although wearing monastic robes, are like hanging rags on trees, and have no dignity. Even if householders see them, they will not be respectful, and will become like butchers. This is the reason for speaking extensively like this. Therefore, do not be born in the eight states of unfreedom, nor become the sixteen states that are similar to them. Even if you temporarily become like that, rely on the holy guru and profound instructions, and in this time when the mind can be transformed, diligently spend your days and nights. The summary of the meaning is: In the realm of sinful suffering and raging winds, tired and fearful, accumulating turbid merit, with a narrow mind towards the Dharma, the eight unfreedoms, think about it and make your leisure meaningful. Thus it is taught. Third, identifying the nature of leisure and endowment is divided into two aspects: explaining the essence of leisure, and explaining the special dharma of endowment. The first aspect is: Like this, the twenty-four states of unfreedom disturb the body and mind, and are liberated from busyness, so it is leisure. The basis of the body and pure wisdom are endowed in meaning, so it is endowment. In particular, the supreme leisure and endowment of the Mahayana is, as it says in the Akashagarbha Sutra: World Honored One, how should we view leisure and endowment? The reply is: The mind is disturbed by conceptual thoughts and scattered, this is called busyness. The mind is pacified from conceptual thoughts and abides in its own nature, this is called leisure. Endowment is knowing the nature of the mind, and is endowed in the meaning of pure wisdom, so it is called endowment. Here, for the time being, quoting from the Ksitigarbha Sutra: In samsara, there are ten kinds of beings who are difficult to obtain a human body, what are they? Not generating roots of virtue, not accumulating merit and resources, following evil friends, connecting the continuum of afflictions, not fearing the suffering of future lives, the mind is disturbed by afflictions, always being lazy and distracted from the Dharma, even entering the Buddha's teachings not practicing accordingly, following wrong views, and tightly grasping wrong views.

By acting as stated, one is liberated from the karmic consequences of negative causes. Now, engaging in virtuous deeds, through the power of positive karma, one obtains an excellent celestial or human body, transforming into the very essence of leisure and endowment, which is indeed a treasure trove of supreme merit. As stated in the "Sutra of the Meeting of Father and Son": "Having completely abandoned the eight states of unfreedom, and having obtained the leisure and endowments which are difficult to find, and having found faith in the Sugata's teachings, the wise ones engage in the yoga of wisdom." Furthermore, as stated in the "Mindfulness Sutra": "Joyful one, whatever you have seen well and whatever you have heard well, just as it arises from contemplating leisure and endowment, so too should people regard all happiness and virtuous qualities as being accomplished." And so on. Secondly, how does one possess the ten endowments? The verse states: "In a central, pure land, with faculties and limbs fully complete, a place of faith, the flower of karmic actions not destroyed by sins, to become a human being, a wish-fulfilling tree, is extremely rare. The victorious Udumbara flower appears in the world, the flower of Dharma blossoms in the garden of teachings, abiding without decline and entering correctly, relying on the cool shade of the holy ones is even rarer." As mentioned in the "Sutra Explaining the Twelve Endowments of Leisure and Endowment": "Obtaining a human body, being born in a noble land, having complete faculties, not having reversed the limits of karma, and having faith in the teachings, these five are the self-endowments. The Buddhas appearing, the Dharma being taught, the holy Dharma abiding, others also practicing it, and having affection for those who practice Dharma, these five are the other-endowments." As stated, the five self-endowments depend on oneself, namely: obtaining a special human body, which is the basis for gods and Dharma, is an endowment; being born in a central land (ancient India) where the teachings abide is an endowment; having complete faculties, which are the basis for hearing and thinking, is an endowment; not having reversed the limits of karma and constantly engaging in virtue is an endowment; having faith in the object of faith, the teachings of the Victorious Ones, is an endowment. The five other-endowments depend on external conditions, namely: the Buddhas appearing in the world at this time is an other-endowment; turning the three wheels of Dharma, etc., is an other-endowment; the teachings abiding without declining is an other-endowment; entering the teachings is also an other-endowment; the virtuous friend who is the guide on the path to liberation
