It is so. Thus it is. Although it is so, the Mahayana scriptures are boundless and inconceivable. At that time, when this Dharma discourse was being taught, countless beings such as gods, nagas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, and mahoragas, obtained the Dharma eye, free from dust and defilement, in all dharmas. As it is said in the Ratnakuta Sutra. There, the cause and effect of rebirth also comes from the Asura chapter: Always practicing deceit and trickery, not committing sins, delighting in fighting and always giving, that one becomes a powerful Asura. Thus it is. Now, explaining the suffering of humans. The suffering of suffering, the suffering of change, and the suffering of conditioning, these are the three great fundamental sufferings. Birth, old age, sickness, death, encountering enemies one dislikes, separation from loved ones, not obtaining what one desires, and the five aggregates of grasping. Constantly tormented in eight ways by holding the characteristic of suffering. In order to explain the suffering of suffering. Life is like a floating bubble, unpleasantness, discomfort, and conflicts, etc., the previous suffering brings about the subsequent suffering, like a leper with a new wound on top of an ulcer. Thus, wise beings, compared to the past fortunate kalpa, and compared to other humans with unpleasant sounds, etc., the residue of life in this present time of Jambudvipa, impermanent like a water bubble, even the inherent suffering of sorrow cannot be separated from it. Sudden illnesses, demons, enemies, and the harm of the elements, etc., are compounded by many sufferings. Even so, most people, because they have not carefully considered it, do not suffer from seeing the future situation, but it is like being tormented by illness and then being devoured by wild animals, or like the stinging pain of a boil added to leprosy. The suffering of change is: In the garden of perfect higher qualities, with the taste of desire, the torment of poison, eating causes the body to become emaciated, the body obtained like an illusion is a changing body. Whichever being, playing and enjoying in a garden or palace, etc.

It is like the pleasure of singing and dancing turning into a moment, or like poisonous food mixed in entering the stomach. The body's radiance fades, the eyesight diminishes, and the ascetic practice of exorcism on the bed causes the body to become thin and suffer in an instant. Or, like a body enthusiastic about art, it is easily ruined by art itself. The suffering of conditioned existence is universal. The touch of the feet on the ground is unbearable. Even if one climbs the elephant's neck with a weary mind, its thoughts become wild with desire, leading to a fall into the abyss, which exemplifies the suffering of conditioned existence. Regarding this meaning, one can use the lineage and example of past generations. In the city called Radiant, King Rabsel enjoyed climbing on the neck of an elephant and said to the elephant trainer, 'Hey, be aware! This excellent elephant was obtained through the power of merit that makes it unbearable for our feet to touch the ground. You must train and control it.' The trainer replied, 'As the gods command,' and promised to train the elephant until it could fearlessly take a burning iron hammer with its trunk and listen to commands. Then, the king and his subjects rode on the elephant's neck and happily went for a stroll in the nearby countryside. However, the root of suffering is that all the causes of suffering are invisible. The elephant, although the Supreme Buddha could not subdue its mind with the precepts of subduing afflictions, and the trainer only subdued its body with an iron hook, became wild with desire upon smelling the scent of a female elephant. It ran as if the entire earth were spinning like a chariot wheel, causing confusion. King Rabsel suffered near-death agony. Thus, the suffering of conditioned existence is mostly invisible to all sentient beings. Therefore, these three great fundamental sufferings are like a vast wilderness where sentient beings wander according to their karma. There, people suffer from the eight types of suffering, such as birth, aging, sickness, and death. These three sufferings themselves are like a wilderness...
