Moreover, in the hells, the great copper cauldrons are boiled intensely, the heat forceful, and those who can only raise their heads to breathe for a moment, countless iron hammers strike down in anger, yet they feel that being struck to death would be the greatest happiness. Just as being boiled in the great copper cauldron of hell, the suffering is so extreme that when they slightly raise their heads to breathe, they feel it would be better to die now, so they wish to have a hammer strike their heads, feeling it would be a relief. Until Nirvana is attained, they are tormented only by suffering. Occasionally, they are born in the heavens and among humans, and due to the power of accumulated merit, they briefly escape the cycle of birth and death in the lower realms. While dwelling in the happy realms, the suffering of the lower realms, like a flame, is inherently unbearable, but it will eventually subside. It is like craving a few pleasures of gods and humans, which is a continuation of the previous situation. Similarly, unbearable suffering helplessly torments them constantly. Occasionally, in the absence of the turmoil of birth and death, the momentary suffering is extinguished like an unbearable flame.

Furthermore, the suffering is described as follows: Jealousy despises the glory of the gods, and the enemy's blade cuts the heart, causing further wounds. On the fierce battlefield, the Asuras themselves suffer as their heads and limbs are severed. Thus, the Asuras, by their very nature, possess arrogance and pride, leading to suffering compounded by afflictions. In particular, they are tormented by jealousy of the gods' glory and endure the suffering of engaging in battles with the gods. What are the causes? It is because the inhabitants of Jambudvipa accumulate great forces of non-virtuous actions from the mindfulness of the near-abiding. Also, from the earth realm, the gods are jealous of the Asura girls, and the Asuras are attached to the nectar of the gods. Furthermore, other sutras state that upon seeing the wish-fulfilling tree of the gods adorned with flowers and fruits, they become enraged, saying, "If the glory of this tree belongs to the gods, then what is the use of its roots in our abode?" They then proceed to cut it down with axes, leading to disputes. Initially, they divide their forces and fight separately. The eight white Nagas, such as Delightful and Near Delightful, and the eight black Nagas, such as Hulu and Great Huluka, fight and quarrel. When one side is defeated, they summon the sky-dwelling gods who reside on their respective sides. If the black side's Nagas are defeated, they summon Rahu, the water's edge, to join the battle. If Rahu is victorious, the white side's Nagas and the sky-dwelling gods summon the armies of the Four Great Kings. All of their divisions don strong armor and engage in battle. When the Asura forces are defeated, the one with the difficult garland from the place of difficulty also joins the Asura forces in battle, but they are also defeated and summon the one with the beautiful threads. At that time, the one with the beautiful threads becomes enraged and strikes the golden ground with his feet, causing the great earth to shake and Mount Meru to tremble. Even the seat of Indra, the lord of the gods, shakes. There, Indra thinks, "What is the cause of this earthquake? Is it that a Bodhisattva has ascended from one ground to another? Is it that a manifestation of the Tathagata is performing miracles in the world? Or is it due to the ripening of great non-virtuous actions? Or has the lord of the Asuras engaged in the activity of war?"

When he thought, observing with the divine clairvoyance, he knew that war was about to break out. So they gathered in the Good Dharma Hall and issued a command: "Those gods whose lives are coming to an end, or whose time for the maturation of the karma of death has arrived, should remain in their own abodes. The rest of you, be joyful in the matter of war." After saying this, he went to the Joyful Grove in the north and, looking at the sleeping couch in the trees, he comprehended the signs of victory in battle. Then, those assemblies of gods went to the Grove of Harsh Transformation, and merely by entering its pool, they newly obtained the pervasive thought of hatred, and thus became joyful in the matter of war. From the eastern Armor Grove there, they distributed the various precious armors that emerged from the trees. Riding on the extremely stable elephant, seven cubits tall, used for war. On the thirty-three heads, the current lord of the gods is the god named Beautiful Eyes, that is, Bodhi. There are also the eight wealth gods, headed by Great Power, the twelve friends, headed by the Lord of Hosts, the twelve sons of the sun, headed by Joyful and Near Joyful, these thirty-two attendants reside, and each head also manifests as seven heads, on which there are so many divine armies. Those heads also manifest seven by seven tusks, and each tusk has seven by seven pleasure gardens and pools. There, there are extremely beautiful goddesses singing and dancing, seven by seven. Each goddess has seven by seven maidservants. Each maidservant has seven by seven cymbals, and after manifesting, they meet at the western side of Mount Meru, where it meets the water's edge, and engage in battle. The powerful Asuras, the lustful ones, in front of the Lord of Speech, are intoxicated by the magic of the beloved, and will be destroyed by the vajra and chakra of the gods. At that time, the gods, by the power of merit, will surpass the Asuras in the seven great arrays. From the surface of the sun and moon, they hurl vajras, chakras, arrows, clubs, Mount Meru, etc., thereby destroying the Asuras. The Asuras also come with elephants, horses, chariots, and the fourfold army, hurling vajras, great staffs, Shakti (藏文:ཤཀྟི།,梵文天城体:शक्ति,梵文罗马拟音:śakti,汉语字面意思:力量), and Mount Meru.
