Even with wisdom, one rushes towards suffering. Although desiring happiness, one destroys one's own happiness like an enemy due to ignorance. Just as moths are attached to the form or light of a flame and die. Master Vasubandhu said, 'Even seeing the great assembly of blazing fires, moths still have great attachment to form and enter the fire.' Similarly, those deceived by attachment to sound are deer. They eat pure sprouts of grass and can go very far, but by the songs of hunters, they will surely be sought out to be killed. Those deceived by smell are bees. Bees always fly in the sky and their forms are very pleasing, but by the fault of smell, they will surely die. Fish, even though they walk on unobstructed paths and always move around, are ruined by hooks because of their attachment to tasting flavors. Elephants lose their lives by the touch of a female. Competing with the earth protectors and being known as the king of mountains, they are surely killed by the close touch of a female elephant. Thus, if those sentient beings can lose their lives by just one object of desire, then why wouldn't human beings, who are constantly connected with all five objects, be harmed? As it was said before, 'Humans constantly possess these five, and are utterly destroyed day and night, so how can they obtain a place of happiness?' Therefore, from the mixing of the five objects to be grasped and the grasping mind, afflictions arise, and by that, beings are led into endless samsara. So, the noble Avalokiteśvara sent a letter to the young monk Rabsel: 'Friend, have you forgotten your vows? Why are you so attached to this desire, which is like a pit of fire? If you do not strive with a very weary mind, how is it possible to ever be satisfied with desire, the cause of existence?' And in a letter to a lama: 'Evil minds are destroyed by enjoyment, they do not seek the other side, and with ruined thoughts and craving for desire, they destroy themselves and others.'

I will perish! The ripening of desire is suffering, sweet at first, bitter in the end. If you don't drop the torch from your hand, it will eventually burn the child. Thus he taught. To show the great power of the suffering of samsara: In the land of existence, there is the fierce and violent fire, the wrathful manifestation of the cruel beast, and the suffering that is faster than the punishment of a barbarian king, which torments these beings through past and future lineages. Thus, samsara is the nature of suffering, the cause and effect of suffering, and the way of relying solely on the great collection of suffering. In the world, that which destroys whatever it encounters is the violent fire, therefore, in the eyes of the noble ones, from the peak of existence downwards, they always see suffering like a burning flame. Similarly, in the vast wilderness, the desolate plains, the places without friends, being harassed by tigers, lions, bears, bears, wild men, etc., the means of escape is cut off, or being imprisoned in a tight prison by the king's punishment, bound by iron chains, wooden shackles, and ropes, sleeping in impurity, there is no place to stretch out comfortably, on the eyes, heart, and skin, close to being harmed by the blade of a razor, what is the feeling of that suffering like? Moreover, sentient beings have no time to be liberated, entering the deep abyss of samsara like the turning of a potter's wheel, bound by the firm shackles of birth, old age, sickness, death, and the three great and eight sufferings, each time connecting in existence, wandering unbearably in the vast wilderness of the bardo, the impurity of bad karma covers the body, unable to breathe freely in a place of comfort, the downward-moving karmic winds and the sharp points of evil thoughts pierce the eyes of wisdom, the heart of patience, and the skin of virtuous deeds, therefore one must wander in the ocean of suffering of samsara without end, these are all temporary terrors, in the vast play it is said, children are attached to and like this samsara, just as pigs are attached to impure things. Here, sentient beings are drowned in it, just as elephants are drowned in the mud. Sentient beings are attached to this, just as dogs are attached to bones.
