It is called the path of the lesser being. It is associated with the virtue of being a part of liberation, so the way to necessarily combine with goodness is that, in general, if there is a certain kind of disposition, and small roots of virtue are placed as seeds, when the power of these two factors matures, they will awaken and surely go to enlightenment. As it is said in the Holy Dharma White Lotus Sutra: "Children like to play, and in the same way, building stupas with sand, drawing figures on walls with branches or fingernails, all of these will attain this supreme enlightenment." Therefore, just seeing the Three Jewels, or hearing the names, or focusing on a stupa and folding one's palms together, or taking a step for the sake of circumambulation and service, or offering a flower or a drop of water, even making a bad connection is acceptable, all actions relying on the Three Jewels will become a part of liberation, because the difference in the object of reliance is great. That is to say, the merit of the part of fortune just mentioned will cast beings into high and low states of existence in samsara, and knowing that both non-virtue connected to suffering realms such as the lower realms are without inherent existence, therefore, the virtue that is completely liberated from the cause of samsara, that is, all contaminated phenomena, is the only cause of liberation. As it is said in the Compilation: "A skilled carpenter is good at making images of men and women, and they can also do all kinds of things. Similarly, a Bodhisattva who is skilled in using wisdom, with non-discriminating wisdom, can also do all kinds of things." Therefore, the part of liberation, the uncontaminated and supreme cause, the ten virtues, meditation, the formless realms, the six perfections such as generosity, and the five paths of accumulation, application, seeing, cultivation, and no more learning are all included. In this way, on the side of conventional truth, all that is included in the accumulation of merit, that is, the ten virtues and the five perfections; on the side of ultimate truth, the accumulation of wisdom, that is, the wisdom that does not abide in the two extremes, with emptiness and great compassion as its essence, is united without any before or after, and all that is included in the order of the five paths, temporarily attaining higher realms, and ultimately tending towards the peace of Nirvana, is the true fruit of the maturation of the part of liberation. Similarly, the result of conformity with the cause, the result of power, and the result of action are also in order: the result of conformity with the cause is naturally inclined towards virtue, longevity, and

Reversing the undesirable consequences such as great consumption and the absence of enemies; in terms of the results of power, reversing the unfavorable aspects such as a good country, complete glory, and easy digestion of food and medicine; in terms of the results of action, in that very life, virtue increases, and wishes are fulfilled as desired, which also comes from good conduct, and in this life, these will also come to fruition. As exemplified by this, it is as extensively taught in the Sutra of the Ten Virtues. In short, the way in which merit does not diminish like similar portions is stated in the Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra: 'Venerable Shariputra, by what root of virtue does one go among gods and humans and become the unsurpassed Buddha?' Possessing one mind of generating unsurpassed Bodhicitta, along with the ten virtues, the four concentrations, the four formless absorptions, and the six perfections, these will never be exhausted or disappear in the intermediate state.' So it is said. That is, the wisdom that realizes selflessness and the method of great compassion alone are connected without any temporal sequence, which is the way in which the great virtue of the Great Vehicle is vast. Furthermore, having realized the meaning of the two selflessnesses, the virtue of the union of method and wisdom is like the elixir of gold transformation. For the iron ore that contradicts existence and peace, by touching it, it becomes the realm of the victorious ones of non-abiding wisdom. Accomplishment is the virtue beyond the world. In this way, unlike the Hearers and Solitary Realizers' systems, which do not focus on the selflessness of persons and phenomena, but rather because the agent within is separated, the apprehended object is known to be without inherent nature, which is the selflessness of phenomena; and the apprehended object, which is the self-arising emptiness in which the knowable object is separated from the three characteristics of arising, ceasing, and abiding, is the selflessness of phenomena. By extensively touching all aspects of the method, the virtue of the union of method and wisdom, which is not different or non-dual, is like the elixir of gold transformation. At the very moment of practicing virtue, one is liberated from the mind of merit and non-merit. From the perspective of grasping at entities and characteristics, once the iron ore that contradicts samsara and nirvana is touched, it is like not finding a stone in the golden city of Shambhala, entering the wisdom of non-abiding, accomplishing the state of omniscience, which is the virtue beyond the world.
