will change, and will have such perceptions of places and times, and will experience the feelings that are in accordance with the actions. These are the scriptures that explain the path of the ten virtues as they are. If we follow the wording of our own treatises, then receiving wages and rewards means: being possessed by others after they have paid wages, and giving rewards to prostitutes, etc., whether or not they are decorated with signs, they are protected by place and time for a long time. Similar things are all those who are not to be approached, that is, other than the senses. The commentary on the Treasury says: The efforts of one's own limbs, etc. The teacher Horse Sound said: What is called not to be approached is: possessed by others, possessing the banner of the Dharma, protected by caste, protected by the king, prostitutes taken by others, and those who have relationships with relatives, etc., these are not to be approached. Therefore, by explaining what is not a limb, it shows that the Han treatises are consistent in meaning, but the way of naming is different. Here, the actions of body and speech are tangible, so it goes without saying that one does it oneself. Participating in the deliberations of other people's actions, if the ideas are the same, there is no difference from the actor. The Treasury says: For the same purpose as war, etc., all are like actors. In that case, there is no fault for those who are mad, confused, and tormented by feelings. Similarly, if the basis, thought, action, and ultimate four are not complete, then this action is not ultimate, and this method applies to all situations. The four of speech are lying, deceiving others. Similar things are deceiving the minds of others after confusing their perceptions. Slander is splitting those who are harmonious or in a neutral state. Similar things are repeating the words of others with faulty words, creating hatred. Idle talk is generating greed and hatred from meaningless chatter. Similar things are idle talk that has nothing to do with war and bandits. Harsh words are piercing the hearts of others. Similar things are giving others unpleasant causes and things. The four of speech also have two kinds, directly pointed out and similar. The directly pointed out lie is perfected through four branches: the basis of speaking is not confused, the idea and view of deceiving others are kept in mind, untruthful words are spoken, and his perception is changed.

Great wisdom is said to be when one speaks of doubtful things as if they were certain, which is simply lying. Among them, 'not mistaken in the basis' refers to when one is not a noble being (ārya), and similarly does not possess clairvoyance (abhijñā), yet speaks directly of something that is not true as if it were, or writes it down, or makes bodily gestures, causing the other person to misunderstand and think that one is a noble being or possesses clairvoyance, thus changing their perception. This is known as the great lie, revered as the supreme human dharma. The similar aspect is speaking with words that are falsely presented as upright, knowing that they will deceive others. Slander (paiśunya) is complete with three branches: the basis of division is people who are friendly or neutral with each other; the means of division is speaking words of discord; and the ultimate result is understanding the meaning. There are times when lying and slander are similar, but the distinction is that lying has the intention to deceive, while slander has the intention to divide. The similar aspect is repeatedly saying the same things about matters that are mutually displeasing. Idle talk (saṃbhinnapralāpa) refers to speech that does not belong to any of the other three categories, but is spoken with a mind of affliction (kleśa), and even if the other person understands the ultimate meaning of these three, it is still idle talk, as explained in the commentaries of both the 'Friendly Letter' (Suhrllekha) and the 'Treasure Store' (Abhidharmakośa). As such, the monk Chöden Rabjor Yang also said that idle talk is completed by two branches: thinking of something that is not in accordance with the Dharma, and speaking idle talk. That is to say, all speech that considers something not in accordance with the Dharma to be the Dharma and speaks idle talk is included. For example, offerings, praises, clear mantras, secret mantras of Brahmins, songs of desire, theatrical lines, the talk of prostitutes, and treatises that contradict the Dharma, such as the five foundations praised in India in the past. In short, all jokes spoken arbitrarily or spontaneously that become a source of attachment and aversion are idle talk. The similar aspect is speaking words unrelated to war, thieves, etc. Harsh speech (paruṣavāc) is complete with three branches: specifically targeting a person, speaking harsh words, and ultimately making them unhappy. The similar aspect is even if one speaks pleasant words, but
