In whatever way one attends, one attends in that way. Having entered in this way and dwelling in it many times, for him, whatever is the extreme pliancy of the body and the extreme pliancy of the mind, that is called calm abiding. Thus, a Bodhisattva completely seeks calm abiding. Having obtained the extreme pliancy of the body and the extreme pliancy of the mind, he abides in that, abandoning the mental distractions, and for those dharmas that are thought about, he separately cognizes and believes in them as images in the object of meditative absorption. In this way, for those images that are the object of meditative absorption, whatever is the discrimination of the meaning of what is to be known, or the complete understanding, or the complete analysis, or the forbearance, or the desire, or the distinction, or the seeing, or the realization, that is called insight. In this way, a Bodhisattva is skilled in insight. As it was taught. In this way, the insight of the state of meditative equipoise on the worldly path, although it is the nature of discrimination, when the meditative equipoise that directly realizes the nature of reality, the wisdom of self-awareness, enters the continuum, it is the attainment of the state of a noble being who has transcended the world. Therefore, it enters into abandoning the obscurations to knowledge, and its nature is as stated in the "Inquiry of Light Protector Sutra": From rubbing two sticks together, fire arises, After arising, that fire burns the fuel, Likewise, after the power of wisdom is born, The wisdom that is born burns its own nature. In this way, from the wisdom of discriminating the signless calm abiding, the signless insight, the non-discriminating wisdom arises, which is the view of the master Nagarjuna and his spiritual sons. Therefore, the unerring discriminating wisdom is considered to be like a fire that burns all the fuel of discrimination, as the glorious Dipamkara said: In the fires of discrimination, Burn all virtuous discriminations. Thus. That is to say, just as when the object to be burned is burned up, the burner also does not remain, in the nature of meditative equipoise, when the insight of non-discriminating wisdom shines forth, the conceptual thought of attention does not enter. That is to say, just as fire burns what is to be burned, and when what is to be burned is exhausted, the fire also ceases, all sentient beings' dharmas.

is of consciousness. It is considered to be the firewood of fire. If burned by the fire that distinguishes them as they are, it will tend to be extinguished. Like this, from entering simultaneously, like this, the past This, although living together with all, due to the influence of ignorance, the fault of not contemplating the excellent Dharma, the means of liberation from this harmer, is like the experience of countless generations of ascetics, Brahmins, and assemblies of wise ones. This very Sutra of Advice to the King clearly shows this: Great King, for example, great mountains from four directions, solid, stable, possessing essence, indestructible, uncracked, extremely hard, without gaps, towering, touching the sky and pressing against the earth, grinding all grasses, trees, gums, branches, leaves, and all living beings into powder as they come, in this situation, whether fleeing quickly, resisting with strength, bribing with wealth, or preventing with objects, mantras, and medicines, is not easy. Great King, similarly, these four great fears will come. Which four? Aging, sickness, death, and decay. Great King, aging destroys youth and comes. Sickness destroys health and comes. Decay destroys all perfections and comes. Death destroys life and comes. From these, whether fleeing quickly, resisting with strength, deceiving with wealth, or pacifying with objects, mantras, and medicines, is not easy. Thus, Licchavi Vimalakirti also said to his friends: Friends, this body is so impermanent, so unstable, so unreliable, so fragile, so meaningless, so decaying, so short-lived, so painful, so full of diseases, so subject to change. Friends, this body is a container of many diseases; the wise should not dwell on it. Friends, this body is so unbearable, like a bubble blown by the wind. This body does not last long, like a bubble in water. This body arises from the existence of afflictions, like a mirage. This body has no essence.
