Desire to be liberated. Thus, liberation from both the afflictive obscurations and the cognitive obscurations. That is, whatever non-virtue causes the mind not to be completely pacified, or the afflictive obscurations such as Sarana in the obscured and unspecified places, and the contaminated virtue with attachment to the three spheres, or the nature of the unobscured and unspecified, the object taken and the subject's conceptualization of the object, are the cognitive obscurations. Among those, the imputed afflictive obscurations are all to be abandoned by seeing, and the innate ones are to be abandoned by meditation. Moreover, the coarse conceptualizations of the object and subject of the cognitive obscurations are to be abandoned by seeing, and the subtle ones are to be abandoned by meditation. The categories are, in general, all the imputed that become obstacles to the path of seeing. There are two types of that: classification and the method of abandonment. The first has two types: classification from the perspective of the entity, and classification from the perspective of the way of entering wrongly. The first is: desire, anger, pride, ignorance, and doubt, these five. The second is: view of the aggregates, view of extremes, wrong view, view of holding views as supreme, view of holding ethics and vows as supreme, five in total, totaling ten. Thus, when the five views enter the truth of suffering, etc., of the desire realm, they follow the five non-views, each having ten, so there are forty. On top of that, the four truths of the two upper realms, with the exception of anger, the nine enter, the four truths of the form realm have thirty-six, the four truths of the formless realm have thirty-six, totaling one hundred and twelve to be abandoned by seeing from the perspective of the object, realm, and way of entering wrongly. In the Compendium of Topics it says: The one hundred and twelve afflictions are the kinds of afflictions to be abandoned by seeing. The second method of abandonment is: through the stages of application, the seeds of what is to be abandoned by seeing are abandoned in the manner of suppressing them, and through the patience of knowing the Dharma, etc., they are abandoned in the manner of eradicating them. That is also in relation to the moments of each of the four truths and what is to be abandoned by them, gradually acting as an antidote to purification. In relation to the arising of wisdom, the two paths of the uninterrupted and liberation are not seen when the patience of Dharma arises, so it is called the path of seeing. In the Sutra of the Ten Grounds it says: Bodhicitta

When someone abides in suchness, at that time, they have entered the first bhumi. From then on, gradually purifying the higher bhumis completely, they enter the Tathagata bhumi. Thus it is said. At that time, realizing the distinction that the Dharmadhatu pervades all self and others, with the supreme Bodhicitta of self-other equality, engaging in the benefit of others as in one's own benefit, the Paramita of generosity is especially prominent. The distinctive qualities of that are twelve hundred thousand qualities that can be shown in an instant, as well as eyes, clairvoyance, and immeasurable miracles. That is, from seeing the faces of a hundred Buddhas in a hundred moments, to being able to take birth as the king of Jambudvipa, as explained in the sixth chapter. Then, in the path of meditation of the noble ones: At the end of the ten bhumis continuum, with the Vajra-like Samadhi, destroying the obscurations of knowledge, manifest enlightenment. The remainder of those are the nature of the path of meditation. The support of the body is the beings of the three continents, not necessarily male or female, with many births among the gods of the desire and form realms. The Ornament of the Sutras says: "Taking rebirth intentionally," so it is possible to be born in others as well. The support of the mind is the fourth dhyana. The cause is the three paths of accumulation, junction, and seeing of the Great Vehicle. The result is the path of no more learning. The characteristic is that from the second bhumi upwards to the end of the ten bhumis continuum, the term "Great Vehicle path of meditation" can be applied. Arising after the completion of the Great Vehicle's path of seeing, and being gathered by the virtue of one's own path, that which is the cause of the arising of the first moment of the Great Vehicle's path of no more learning. The instance is that which is gathered by the virtue belonging to the wheel of the nature of the ten bhumis. The division is that the path of meditation is divided into small, medium, and large, each divided into three, so there are nine in total. Among them, the smallest of the small is the second bhumi, the stainless one, that is, the dweller of the first bhumi, in that bhumi, with regard to the subtle faults of falling, one who cannot abide with mindfulness, compared to the second bhumi, possesses the distinction of completely perfecting the limbs of being able to abide with mindfulness. In that bhumi, not constantly engaging in subtle faults of falling, or by nature
