Moreover, by cultivating the mindstream with the wisdom of hearing, thinking, and meditating, and relying solely on this, one can cease all conceptualizations, discriminations, improper attention, and views that cling to a self. By ceasing ignorance, which is the root of all arising, the other branches of cyclic existence, such as karma, will cease involuntarily. By exhausting the cause of entering into the state of death, one will be liberated from the ocean of cyclic existence. As it is said in the Root Wisdom Treatise: "If ignorance ceases, then actions will not arise. The cessation of ignorance is through meditating on that truth with wisdom. Because that and that cease, that and that do not manifestly arise. Only the aggregate of suffering, thus, is completely extinguished." Thus, all phenomena are of the same essence, and seeing the nature of dependent arising as it truly is allows those with childish minds, who are attached to things that lack inherent existence, to wander in cyclic existence and suffer. Furthermore, by realizing that the dharma focused on the origin is also without self, the discriminating consciousness that distinguishes the five aggregates ceases naturally in the state of non-arising. As it is said in the Holy Cloud of Jewels Sutra: "How does a Bodhisattva become skilled in non-self? Son of noble family, here, a Bodhisattva discriminates form with correct wisdom, and discriminates feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness. When he discriminates form, he does not see the arising of form, he does not see the origin, he does not see the cessation. Likewise, he does not see the arising of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness. He abides in the wisdom of non-arising in the ultimate sense, not through a different entity." Therefore, in the ultimate sense, Nirvana is also the aspect of wisdom that depends on conditions and is pacified. Seeing the path of all phenomena as without self and without inherent existence is called the great seeing of the unseen, as it is said in the sutra: "The unseen is the supreme seeing." As it is said in the Holy Lankavatara Sutra: "Other phenomena depend on conditions."

Having seen, it transforms into the wisdom of liberation from sorrow. Because there is no seeing of selflessness in phenomena, those great wisdom holders have no liberation. Thus it was declared. In this way, establishing appearance as unborn, by contemplating its nature, the nature of knowing is known as the wisdom of meditation. As it is said in the Noble Jewel Cloud Sutra: Having thus distinguished the specific meaning of reality with the wisdom of thought, one generates the wisdom of meditation in order to realize it directly. By merely hearing and so on, the meaning is not directly realized. Thus it was declared. Therein, the nature of knowing is the path of direct perception, holding the very meaning of all phenomena being without self-nature as the wisdom of meditation. In the Noble Compendium Sutra it says: Those who fully know that all phenomena are without self-nature, are practicing the supreme perfection of wisdom. Therefore, the wisdom of meditation is seeing the selflessness of phenomena, and by naturally abiding in the meaning of selflessness, seeing the wisdom of non-appearance. Although it cannot be meditated upon with minds of conceptualizing existence and non-existence, the term meditation is applied to whatever closely establishes mindfulness in the realm of wisdom that is primordially and naturally completely liberated. In the Noble Sutra on the Two Truths, it says: Although it is utterly non-existent in the ultimate, one should still meditate on the path in the relative. And in the King of Samadhi Sutra, it says: You should understand it with love. Thus it was declared, so abiding in equipoise is the same as the wisdom of meditation. The Victorious One also said that through it one will touch the way of abiding in its nature: By abiding in equipoise, one knows reality as it is. In order to establish the direct realization of its nature, the sky, the realm of complete purity, is of one taste with the meaning of meditation. Therein, the five aggregates such as form, and all eight consciousnesses, do not exist. Thus, the sky is ungraspable, unshowable, non-material, without beginning or end, similarly, the mind is unfindable when sought, beyond objects, and invisible in the beginning, middle, and end, the five aggregates such as form
