It is called "Seeing Emptiness." So it is said. Furthermore, for a moment, the way of relying on dependent origination. As it says in the Root Wisdom: "There is no dharma that is not dependently originated. Therefore, there is no dharma that is not emptiness." As it says, there are three explanations of this, the first of which is the nature of dependent origination: All phenomena of appearance and existence, samsara and nirvana, Do not come from anywhere, Do not cease or remain anywhere, Dependent origination that abides in nature, The nature of phenomena themselves is also like birth and death, From the moment of appearance, emptiness arises, Not abiding at the edge of elaboration, It shows the very nature of the Middle Way. In this, appearance is deceptive and false, Existence is cunning and fabricated, Samsara has its own origin and continuity, Nirvana is also a designation of name on the nature of self-nature, Thus, all phenomena that appear as phenomena and nature, firstly, do not come from anywhere, so it is called unborn, it is not the past. In the middle, it does not abide anywhere, so it has no self-nature, it is not the present. Finally, it does not go anywhere, so it is called non-arising, it is not the future. As it says in the Meeting of Father and Son Sutra: "All these dharmas are equal in the equality of the three times. In the past, all dharmas are without self-nature, even until the time of arising in the present They are devoid of self-nature." So it is said. Again, in this way, this appearance appears in various ways, but apart from the appearance, there is no basis for confusion that has become its own nature, and there is no such thing even in mere convention. As it says in the Lankavatara Sutra: "Just as forms appear in a mirror, One and other are completely separated, Although they appear, they are not real." As it is said. Therefore, in all the great and small treatises of both consequentialists and autonomists, with "not truly existent, without self-nature, not only this," etc., in the reason for judging the ultimate truth, in all situations of refuting all subtle objects of negation, on the emptiness in which the common appearance of phenomena is not established, the way in which any designation is considered the Middle Way. As it says in the Root Wisdom: "Whatever is dependently originated, That is explained as emptiness. That is designated by dependence, That itself is the Middle Way." So it is said. The way to cut off the elaboration of such a path.

Ignorance and non-true suchness are sudden. Although they do not exist in reality, they appear as if they do. They are apprehended through pervasive imputation. Through thought and analysis, the four extremes arise: existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation. Even abiding in the middle is not wise. In this regard, the Prasangika Madhyamikas, such as Dharmakirti who follow reason, do not accept the alaya-vijnana (store consciousness). However, in the Bodhicitta-vyakhyana (Explanation of the Mind of Enlightenment), it says: "Likewise, the alaya-vijnana is not true as truth, when it moves and changes." Therefore, the six consciousnesses arise from the alaya-vijnana, which is merely imputed on the mind consciousness. The illusion that appears as external objects, its nature is non-existent but appears suddenly, aroused by ignorance. The mind with pervasive imputation falls into the four extremes of existence and non-existence, and merely seeing the extremes is also present in the tenets of Brahma, because they say: "Things are not truly existent, and non-true things are not non-existent. Seeing the extremes of these two is seeing myself." Therefore, it is not like negating conventional truth and establishing falsehood, or negating the elaboration of ultimate truth and establishing non-elaboration. Rather, it directly negates what is clung to, but does not establish anything implicitly. In this way, it is completely liberated from the views of clinging to extremes and does not abide in the middle. This is the correct view of the Prasangika Madhyamikas. As it is said in the Samadhiraja Sutra: "Those with concepts posit existence and non-existence. By thinking in this way, suffering will not be pacified. Existence and non-existence are both extremes. Purity and impurity are also extremes. The wise do not abide in the middle, nor are they born." If one does not realize such a state, merely eliminating the permanence and annihilation of different entities is also present in the views of worldly people. Therefore, in the Sutra of the Unreturning Wheel, it is said: "Existence is one extreme, non-existence is the second. That is the same as self and no-self, permanence and annihilation are also the same." This is the way of teaching to eliminate faults. Therefore, just like a silkworm making a cocoon, one binds oneself with the tenets of desire. Here, the dharmas imputed by the mind are not birth, cessation, abiding, going, or coming. They are not one, not different, not permanent, not annihilated. Knowing the nature of the complete pacification of all elaborations is the essence of wisdom born from thought. Thus, it exists.
