So. Furthermore, they consider conventional truth and imputation to be the same in meaning, and ultimate truth and substantial existence to be the same in meaning. In general, this school of thought refutes well the self of the person as conceived by outsiders and acknowledges selflessness. Understanding its view is merely a stepping stone to better understanding the view of the Sutra School. Besides that, they also acknowledge that space is both permanent and real, co-emergent cause and effect, and cause and effect with five similarities, etc. They also consider the three times to be substantially existent and things, so they will never disappear, etc., which are very coarse views. The Kashmiri Vaibhashikas, in agreement with the Sutra School, have the distinction of acknowledging the continuum of karma as the basis for the connection of karmic results. Regarding the classification of the path, they only focus on the sixteen aspects of the four truths, such as impermanence, etc., and make classifications of the five paths, but they do not acknowledge classifications such as the ten bhumis. The objects to be abandoned on these paths are the afflictive obscurations and the ignorance that is the opposite of them. They believe that abandoning the former leads to the attainment of the inferior Arhat state, and abandoning the latter, i.e., non-afflictive ignorance, leads to the attainment of the Buddha state. They also believe that the sixteenth path, the subsequent knowledge of the path, the meditation path, and the fifteen moments of the seeing path, also arise in sequence. Moreover, from the perspective of the result, regarding the inferior Arhat state just mentioned, they also believe that it has the nature of decline, etc. Therefore, they acknowledge that one can decline from the attained abandonment and realization, and may even regress to the state of a stream-enterer. They also believe that by practicing in connection with the sixteen paths of impermanence for three countless eons, both types of ignorance are abandoned, thereby attaining Buddhahood. But as for our teacher, from the initial generation of bodhicitta until the subduing of Mara in the evening, he remained in the state of an ordinary being who only possessed a semblance of liberation. His mere name alone perfected the four stages of the path of preparation, such as heat, etc., and the fifteen moments of the path of seeing. After perfecting them on the same seat, at dawn, through the diamond-like samadhi of the path of meditation, he uprooted non-afflictive ignorance from its root, thereby attaining Buddhahood. They believe that attaining Buddhahood in this way is also the wisdom of knowing the exhaustion and non-arising of the mindstream.

Therefore, the external physical body itself is the truth of suffering, so they do not wish to become Buddhas. For example, when Devadatta threw a rock, the feeling of being hit in the foot is not considered a manifestation, but is directly acknowledged in its literal sense. However, according to their mind-stream, they believe that the actions after becoming a Buddha are the actions of a Buddha; according to their body, they are considered Arhats with residue. From Nirvana onwards, they abide in the realm of no residue, so the activities of matter and consciousness are cut off, and they do not wish for the establishment of manifestations of the physical body in other realms, or the enjoyment body, etc., nor do they acknowledge the non-abiding Nirvana that is separate from the Nirvana with residue and without residue. Similarly, although they only wish to establish the four pairs of individuals and the eight types of persons, because they are persons, they are not considered the Sangha Jewel, but they consider the lives of those who are learning and those who are not learning in their continuum to be the Sangha Jewel. The Sutra School says: Whatever has the ability to perform a function is ultimately existent here, and everything else is conventionally existent. This is also explained by the definitions of self-character and general character. The view of the Sutra School is similar to the nature of the Nyaya School. In this way, from the aspect of clinging to truth, the person who enters into the explanation of the Lesser Vehicle's tenets, acknowledging both external objects and self-awareness, is the definition of the Sutra School. From the perspective of classification, there are two types of Sutra Schools: those who follow the scriptures and those who follow reasoning. The former believes that the seven Abhidharma sections, which the Sarvastivadins desire to distinguish, are the treatises of the seven Arhats, such as Shariputra, and they speak from that tenet. The latter explains from the seven sections of valid cognition, etc., and relies on the Sutras to explain the tenets, so the name of the Dharma is attached to the person, because the Dharmas are shown in relation to metaphors, so they are also known as the Exemplifiers. For the Dharma that is the basis, the conventional truth is established as true because of false conceptualization, which obscures the nature of things seen by self-character. In this way, the object of appearance of conceptualization is pervaded by the general character, and the general character and the unreal Dharma and the conventional truth are all without difference.
