Having entered (meditation), if one can completely describe that method, everyone can learn it that way, and after death, they can be reborn in the realm of the luminous gods. If one follows that method, the realm of form will also be destroyed, and there will not be a single sentient being in the world. Moreover, the vessel world is destroyed by the three great elements: first, the way it is destroyed by fire is that this one sun in the sky rises extremely hot, causing all the plants and forests to dry up. Two rise, causing all the rivers and ponds to dry up. Three rise, causing all the great rivers to dry up. Four rise, causing the great Anavatapta lake to dry up as well. Five rise, causing the great ocean to dry up as well. How does it dry up? First, the depth dries up by a hundred measures, then successively by two hundred, seven hundred, a thousand, ten thousand, eighty thousand, and finally the water depth of one measure, half a shout's distance, and the amount of a cow's hoofprint are all gone, not a single drop will remain. Six rise, causing the great earth, together with the snow mountains, all the raised places to be burned. Seven rise, causing Mount Sumeru, the seven surrounding mountains, together with the golden foundation, millions upon millions, to be burned, converging into a single burning flame. Downwards, it reaches the golden foundation, together with the abodes of hell. Upwards, it is blown and swirls by the wind, the tip burning the empty palaces of Brahma, burning, extremely burning, burning everywhere, very burning, causing the luminous young gods to be frightened and flustered. The old gods say, 'Friends, do not be afraid! Such a flame has appeared before between the worlds of Brahma, and then it became empty and destroyed.' Then it becomes invisible, and there is no harm here, thus they comfort them. The seven suns are shown directly as a number, and as two ways of successively increasing heat. Then there is destruction by water: from the sky, streams of rain as thick as a yoke, as thick as a plow shaft, fall, and everything from the second dhyana downwards is destroyed like salt dissolving in water. Destruction by wind: then the wind of the foundation below, the vajra cross, rises and scatters in all directions, and everything from the third dhyana downwards is destroyed, existing empty in the nature of space. That is also the first dhyana.

From then on, the second dhyana is not destroyed between the seven destructions by fire. When the second dhyana is destroyed by water, the third is not destroyed. When the third is destroyed by wind, the fourth is not destroyed, because it is from the cause of dhyana that is equally possessed. Because the first dhyana has coarse investigation and analysis of mind and mental factors, which is like fire, it is destroyed by fire. The second has the experience of joy and happiness, like a stream of water, so it is destroyed by water. The third has the movement of inhalation and exhalation, like wind, so it is destroyed by wind. Moreover, unlike the desire realm, there are no coarse wind channels, branches, and the relationship of dependence and support. Because the movement of breath is the same as the component obtained from the first particle born from maturation, the nature of dhyana is also pure. Whether these dhyanas are accomplished or not, for those who practice yoga, whether they suffer harm from the enemy of the elements or not, is the same in terms of Dharma nature. Now, the investigation of mind and mental factors has not ceased. The feeling of joy or displeasure abides in its own place, and the movement of wind has not subsided. Those who are bound by the rope of mindfulness and retention by their own self-aware consciousness have not even accomplished worldly dhyana, let alone transcendental dhyana that is temporarily turned away from the wisdom of the Victorious Ones. The fourth dhyana does not have the harm of elements that appear to be similar to the destruction of the eon, but because of the death and transference of their own karma, it is not permanent. What is the cause of non-destruction? From then on, the activity of investigation and analysis similar to the first dhyana, the coarse mind and mental factors, and the joy and happiness attached to the taste of dhyana similar to the second dhyana, and the nature of the moving wind similar to the third dhyana, these three forms make its samadhi unwavering. Therefore, the elements corresponding to the three conditions do not harm it. Because for those who have no enemy, there is no fear of weapons. Thus, what is the reason why three elements destroy and two do not? Space opens up the space of destruction, abiding in the realm of reality, and does not have the nature of a harmer. And earth is established as the object to be destroyed, and is not born as the object of the destroyer. Before the destruction of these dhyanas, the gods there naturally obtain a higher mind and are reborn in places like increasing virtue. That
