It arises depending on the appearance of sameness. Others, down to Paranirmitavasavartin, come with physical bodies because the desire realm is the same. What is the cause? From the appearance of mind and the aggregation of wind and mind. Because the realms, places, and castes are different and the lands are not the same, the lower cannot see the higher. Moreover, above Anavatapta, there are no sun or moon, so the day and night of the desire realm gods are determined by the opening and closing of flowers, the uttering or not uttering of bird sounds, and sleep and wakefulness. Because their bodies have light, there is never a time when they are in darkness. People with unpleasant voices are certain to be born in the Thirty-three Heavens (त्रयस्त्रिंश,trayastriṃśa,Thirty-three) because they have accumulated the karma to be born there. Other beings such as gods and humans are not certain where they will be born because of the variety of karma. Thus, if all the phenomena of samsara are gathered together, they can be gathered into three: the ultimate of form is the subtle particle, the ultimate of time is the moment, and the ultimate of name is the letter. The first aspect is: seven subtle particles are one atom. Seven atoms are one iron particle. Seven iron particles are one water particle. Seven water particles are one rabbit particle. Seven rabbit particles are one sheep particle. Seven sheep particles are one ox particle. Seven ox particles are one sunbeam particle. Seven sunbeam particles are one louse. Seven lice are one barleycorn. Seven barleycorns are one joint of the middle finger. Twenty-four finger joints are one cubit. Four cubits are one bow's length. Five hundred bow lengths are one krosa. A place as long as a village is called a monastery. Moreover, half a krosa or the place that reaches the end of the village is called a boundary. Eight krosas are one yojana. This is used to measure the size of mountains, lands, and all places. Thus, even what is large, hard, and stable gradually becomes a subtle particle that cannot be seen. The second aspect, the ultimate of time is the moment: in the time it takes a strong person to snap his fingers, sixty-four moments pass. One hundred and twenty of its parts is one instant. Sixty instants are one "thang". Nine hundred "thangs" are one day. Thirty "thangs" are one yudtsam. Thirty yudtsams are one day and night. Thirty days and nights are one month. Twelve months are counted as one year. Moreover, within this time frame, the force of the wind that propels the northern course of the sun's orbit is small, and the supporting force is large, so it approaches the surface of Mount Sumeru and is protected by it, so the summer sun

Long and verdant valley. Because the southward movement has great propulsion and small support, it almost inclines southwards within the encircling region, so the winter days are short. The combination of sunlight, the touch of the wind, and the effect of distance makes it cold. The sun and moon both revolve around Mount Meru to the left by their own power. The reason why their rising and setting appear to revolve to the right is due to the rotation of the globe. Other planets move in four uncertain ways, while the stars do not move. Therefore, intercalary months arise from days, tithis, nakshatra days, and incomplete fractions, and the reasoning that combines the categories of outer, inner, and other three is also established as in the calculations of the Kalachakra. In this way, the number of years is determined, thus measuring the lifespan and time of beings. Moreover, if the method of measurement deviates from the proper way, it will be destroyed by the moment of the end of time. The third aspect is the combination of letters at the end of a name, that is, the combination of three separate letters, such as "chos" (法, dharma). If "cha (ཆ)", "naro (ོ)", and "sa (ས)" exist separately, they cannot form the name "chos (法, dharma)," but they arise from the combination of the three. Writing is the form of letters, composed of the head, arms, dripping mouth, upward stretch, downward stretch, circle, and eye point, etc., thus forming the image of letters. A letter is the combination of sound and the meaning of sound, and is called the expressing dharma. Among them, one letter has only one base letter, such as "ka (ཀ་)". One letter has two base letters, such as "lha (ལྷ་)", which are the two forms of "la (ལ)" and "ha (ཧ)". One letter has three base letters, such as "zhän (གཞན)", which are "ga (ག)", "zha (ཞ)", and "na (ན)". Similarly, there are four base letters, such as "gyän (རྒྱན)", which are "ra (ར)", "ga (ག)", "ya-tag (ཡ)", and "na (ན)". There are five, such as "mang-tha-yang (མང་མཐའ་དབྱངས་)", which are "da (ད)", "ba (བ)", "ya-tag (ཡ)", "nga (ང)", and "sa (ས)". In short, the thirty consonants plus vowels form letters that can express names, etc. When the first consonant "ka (ཀ་)" is pronounced, the letter "a (ཨ་)" naturally merges into it, like "ka-a (ཀ་ཨ་)". If "gi-gu" is added, it becomes "i (ཨི)", that is, "ki-i (ཀི་ཨི་)". Similarly, "o (ཨོ་)" is produced from "na-ro", "e (ཨེ)" from "dreng-bu", and "u (ཨུ་)" from "zhä-kyu".
