Exhortation: Go there, all you who desire meditation. Under the pressure of the arrogant disease of cloud-like wealth, The playing card of life sways and trembles. Change and suffering are the thieves of compounded phenomena. A noisy river that generates destruction, Disturbed by the desire to accumulate, protect, and increase, Exhausting life with laziness, stinginess, and miserliness, Spreading boundlessly into the endless ocean of evil destinies. It is said that because no one achieves meditation in the midst of worldly perfection, our teacher, in the conduct of enlightenment, practiced diligently for countless eons, also because he abandoned the rule of a universal monarch and went to a solitary place. Thus, although worldly wealth arises from dependence on a household, its nature can exist or disappear in an instant, like a cloud that suddenly appears in the sky. Even if it exists for a short time, its essence is suffering, as it is said in the Six Topics on Meditation: The beginning of a household is suffering; it never becomes happy. If a snake sees another place, happiness will increase upon entering. It is said. For example, just as a snake cannot bear being tormented by many young snakes in its own nest and enters another cave to gain happiness, the life of a household is troubled by agriculture, taxes, and armies. The consequences of killing and other actions often interrupt life, falling into the prison of the three sufferings. Most actions are contrary to karmic results, like a harmful river that generates destruction. Busy with accumulation, tired with protection, and endless with increase, these three desires disturb the mind, as it is said in the Letter to a Friend: Know that the suffering of accumulating, protecting, and seeking is endless destruction. Yes. If one is slightly wealthy, one becomes arrogant and jealous of others. If it decreases from that, one becomes stingy out of fear, and the arising of miserliness greatly increases, thus indulging without regard for the faults of desire, which will lead to endless evil destinies, as it is said in the Letter to a Lama: By losing reason and craving desire, one destroys oneself and others. Even the gods crave desire.
