Because of realizing the lack of inherent existence, one will definitely be liberated from samsara. However, they consider the ultimate atom of the object to be grasped and the consciousness of the grasping mind to be momentary manifestations, therefore they strive to abandon afflictions as if they were enemies. Moreover, if a skilled doctor comes to that garden, he will say: "Hey, friends, pulling out the roots of the poisonous tree is laborious and strenuous. Because our medicinal ointment does not contain the poisonous tree, let's stop here this time." Then, he applies the medicinal ointment to the poisonous tree, and as a result, it is effective for four hundred and four diseases. Similarly, in the Bodhisattva's collection, the internal grasping consciousness is merely a mistaken appearance arising from conditions, and it does not truly exist in reality. The imputation of external objects is the completely imputed and the other-dependent. Therefore, through the wisdom that realizes the perfection of reality, understanding that the object and consciousness do not arise separately, one strives to tame and transform afflictions and conceptual thoughts into the nature of reality. As it is said in the Bodhisattva's Pratimoksha Sutra: "Shariputra, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva generates desire, if he truly sees it, he will investigate from what basis that desire arises. When he searches completely, he does not find its basis. From where does that desire arise? By what does that desire arise? How does that desire arise? Thus, its arising is invisible. Where it arises is invisible. How it arises is invisible. Since that desire is invisible, one does not commit sinful actions because of desire, but the white dharmas increase, and it is not disparaged but praised." And so on, it is extensively taught. Again, there came one skilled in tantric rituals and the ultimate truth, who said: Mixing poisonous trees and medicines also involves many actions and clinging to things as real. But with mantras, mudras, and the yoga of deities, it can be transformed into the nature of nectar." So he did just that, and the poisonous tree's color, smell, taste, and potency became even more perfect, without changing in the slightest. Similarly, in the Vajrayana, one is not ignorant of the methods for transforming afflictions and conceptual thoughts into deities and wisdom, and especially, one truly sees the meaning of the nature of reality.

For example, just as a peacock arrives and, without discrimination, devours poisonous trees, resulting in its rejuvenation and the beauty of its feathers. The Twenty Verses on Vows states: "For those endowed with great means, afflictions transform into limbs of enlightenment." Furthermore, in the Bodhisattva Pitaka, it says: "Son of the gods, whoever realizes these three doors of liberation and completely cuts off all elaborations, that is the complete ordination of all the Shravakas of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, of the past, future, and present." It is like that. In short, the Shravakas view both truths as substantially existent, and therefore abandon them through the Pratimoksha vows; the Bodhisattvas view the conventional truth as substantially existent, and purify it through emptiness and compassion; and the Mantrayana utilizes the purity and liberation of the nature of the five wisdoms as the path. These three all belong to the same continuum, therefore, the vows to abstain from non-virtue are the same. The transformation of the essence will be explained in the context of Mantrayana. Regarding the increase of qualities, in the Great Net of Illusion it says: "In the supreme and unsurpassed vows, through the power of taming, discipline and all the Bodhisattva's trainings, without exception, are all gathered and completely purified." Like that, all the trainings of the Shravakas and Bodhisattvas, in the time of Mantrayana, are gathered into common and individual samayas, which will be explained below. Furthermore, the Pratimoksha vow is to refrain from actions that harm others, while the Bodhisattva vow is to fully accomplish benefiting others. The Mantrayana samayas are also in accordance with this, and on top of that, by practicing the activities of the Buddhas, without wavering from the state of great equanimity, accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings as desired through skillful means is the main practice of the two Bodhisattva Pitakas. In the commentary on the Compendium of Sutras, it also says that the pure intention of the Bodhisattva is the main practice, and because the liberation of sentient beings will never be exhausted, the merit based on virtue will also never be exhausted, as explained in the scriptures such as "How." Therefore, being seized by pure means and wisdom, there is not even a tiny speck of fault of contradiction or confusion on top of what is to be known, therefore all qualities are fully complete and gathered.
