Should not do. Should not touch a man, should not live with him. Should not conceal transgressions, should not become a matchmaker. These six root precepts are spoken for nuns. Also, from the same source: Taking Salepram, and the hair of the private parts, digging the earth, and cutting blue grass, etc., eating what has not been given, and eating stored things, from these actions, called "reversal," other similar six actions are considered Dharma. The common aspects to be observed are: except for the seven faultless situations, the training is the same as for nuns. The seven faultless situations are: holding, separating, touching fire, eating what has been taken, destroying seeds, in places where there is blue grass, discarding impure things, and climbing trees. The four root defeats of a nun, as well as the thirteen sanghavasesa, thirty naissaggika pacittiya, ninety pacittiya, four patidesaniya, one hundred and twelve sekhiya, the total number of two hundred and fifty-three precepts. Therefore, from the two hundred and fifty-three trainings, first, if a monk who holds vows commits any of the four root defeats, even if he conceals it for only a moment, he will lose all the vows, this is the root downfall. For example, if the root of a tree is cut off, the branches will not grow again. Because of the inability to destroy the opponent of discord, it is called "defeat" or "fall." Because acting with this downfall leads to defeat, it is called "leading to defeat." This is explained through the discussion of the Vinaya. In the thirteenth year after the teacher attained enlightenment (time), in Shravasti, the monk Zangjin, under the control of afflictions and desire, engaged in impure conduct with his former family, therefore this precept was established. For this impure conduct, downfall occurs only when the four limbs of base, intention, action, and ultimate are complete. The base is: the object to be relied upon, that is, the pleasure arising from sexual intercourse, the limb capable of experiencing this pleasure, must be complete and suitable for complete acceptance, that is, any of the three doors of the vagina, anus, or mouth. The intention is without shame and fear, without mistaken cognition, and with a mind of attachment.

Due to the desire to experience the pleasure of sexual intercourse, giving and inserting what should be engaged in for sexual intercourse, that is, healthy sexual organs, ultimately transcending the boundaries of the three paths and obtaining pleasure, if all four conditions are met, it is called the defeat of non-celibacy, that is, falling from celibacy. The second is the defeat of taking what is not given: The story takes place in Rajagriha (the capital of Magadha around the 6th century BC), where the monk Norcan stole King Ajatasatru's wood to build his own house, and thus the precept was established. The basis is: an object owned by another with complete value, the measure of value being one-fourth of a Karshapana. Burnt shells are mixed into spheres and leaves for consumption, twenty shells equal one Kakani, four Kakani equal one Mashaka, that is, eighty shells. Twenty Mashakas equal one Karshapana, that is, one thousand six hundred shells. One-fourth of that is four hundred shells, which is the measure of the value of a Mashaka. Generally, value changes with time. When the Buddha was alive, twenty Mashakas equaled one Karshapana. But in the time of Master Shakya Light, the value decreased, and sixty Mashakas were considered one Karshapana. Here, according to what is said in the Root Sutra, the medium value is five Mashakas. Then, if we calculate in gold coins according to the standard consistent with India in the time of the Turquoise Lord Lhawachen, one Mashaka equals two gold Sebas. Then five Mashakas are one-fourth of a Karshapana, that is, ten gold Sebas, or equivalent to mountain barley, etc. As the Vinaya Sutra says: Stealing one-fourth of a Karshapana, the thief will lose the precepts. As it is said, thinking that it is someone else's property, the motivation is to covet others' property and want to steal it, the action is to take possession of it with body and speech, and ultimately stealing it yourself or having others steal it is acceptable, the object is complete, and one also feels regret. The third is the defeat of taking life: The story takes place in the Lamp Tree Garden of the Abandoned Land, where sixty meditators practiced the contemplation of impurity, and were disgusted by the impurity of the body, so they had those monks killed, and thus the precept was established. The basis is a human being or one who has taken human form, and who is a different continuum from oneself. The thought is to clearly know that it is the one to be killed, the motivation is
