The seed of (a certain) nature is considered to be the seed (seed syllable). The different views of the upper and lower divisions should be understood from the root verses and commentaries of the Abhidharmakośa. Here, the discipline of the Bodhisattva, so-called, refers to the vows based on the layperson's side, such as the upavāsa (fasting vows), and the male and female lay devotees (upāsaka and upāsikā); on the monastic side, it refers to the monks (bhikṣu) and nuns (bhikṣuṇī), male and female novices (śrāmaṇera and śrāmaṇerikā), and the śikṣamāṇā (probationary nun), i.e., having both the aspiration and application bodhicitta on top of any of the eight types of prātimokṣa vows. Thus, if these eight types of bases are condensed into substances, they are the monks and nuns, the male and female novices and the śrāmaṇerikā, and the male and female lay devotees. These are merely different names, just a change of name, but in reality, on top of the same substance, together with the upavāsa vows, they are considered to be four substances. As it says in the Kośa: "Prātimokṣa is called eight types, in substance it is four types. Because the name changes from the name, these differences are not contradictory." That is to say, there are two rituals for obtaining the vows: the preliminary ritual, which is laborious but completes the time, and the present ritual, which is complete with the assembly. The first is: the fully enlightened Buddha and the self-enlightened one, from the realization of the exhaustion and non-arising of enlightenment, naturally obtain the full ordination; the five good groups, at the time of arising of the path of seeing, comprehend through wisdom; these three obtain full ordination because the essence of a true monk arises in their own continuum. Similarly, the preceptor who bestows the full ordination also has the unique characteristics of a noble one, and the person who completes the ordination has fewer of the three obscurations of karma and afflictions ripening, and for the superior disciple whose wisdom, lineage, and faculties are mature, such as Śāriputra through the "come here" method, Mahākāśyapa promising to be the teacher, the Sangha of the good group promising the three refuges, the lord of beings (Prajāpatī) and others promising to abandon the eight heavy dharmas, and the joy of Sudatta (Anāthapiṇḍada) in response to the questions asked, became the object of full ordination, which is completed through blessing. Similarly, for those who have become servants of the offering parents, through the nun Utpalavarṇā acting as a messenger, relying on the messenger ritual; the number of the Sangha is at least ten in the central lands, and five gathered in the border regions, through the four karmas.

That is, receiving the novice and bhikshu vows at once. As it says in the commentary on the Abhidharmakosha: The Vaibhashika Vinaya followers say that one is fully ordained with ten aspects. Like that. Among them, self-origination is: Since I have no abbot, I am a self-originated bhikshu. Like that, the Teacher himself appeared before becoming enlightened, and "Come hither" was done from enlightenment to the verge of nirvana. Although this is the teaching of fruition, due to seeing some faults, the preliminary ritual of the four karmas was given. Others, not long after becoming enlightened, until "Now it is proper" had not yet appeared, were the ways of receiving the bhikshu vows. Among them, the first seven are those who added the preliminary ritual, because there is no ritual of the four karmas that is complete. The current ritual is the same as the activity ritual, due to the differences between central and border regions, the number of monks being many or few, and the degree of difficulty, there are ten assemblies, five assemblies, or in special cases four assemblies, and completion in two sanghas, and accomplishing things in a sequential order through activities. Among them, regarding the terms central and border regions, the locations are based on India, as it says in the Verse Summary: In Likhar there is a dense forest, Likhar where trees flourish is the east, the mountain called Ushiri is the dark mountain of the north, the city of pillars near the pillars is located in the west, near the reed city, the reed river is the south. Through these, the intermediate regions, it should be known as the central region, the outside is called the border region, as spoken by the one with boundless wisdom. Like that. Even so, now wherever the teachings of scripture and realization exist, it is considered the central region for Dharma gatherings. Among them, the two types of time law and permanent law, first, in general, the basis for generating vows is: The Vaibhashika school believes that whether it is a man or woman from Jambudvipa, Videha, or Aparagodaniya, the object of receiving vows is only a bhikshu. Moreover, being separated from the five types of hermaphrodites, emanations, hermaphrodites, non-Buddhists, those who have committed the five heinous crimes, parents, those not allowed by the king, those who cannot drive away crows, those with defects in their lineage, and those with physical defects such as yellow hair and dwarfism, who cause householders to lose faith. The Sautrantika school...
