As it is said, "Through combination, measure the scriptures and paths with its sound." Like that, each of the six perfections is also divided into six groups such as giving. As it is said in the Ornament for Clear Realization, "These each with giving and so on, are summarized into six aspects, whatever is the accomplishment of armor, is explained as it is in six sets of six." Therefore, establishing the six perfections, the giving of giving and so on, each of their own giving, each of their own discipline that protects against unfavorable things, the patience of enduring such hardships, the diligence of joyfully practicing that, the meditation that does not stray to other things, the wisdom that is held by the view that does not conceptualize the three spheres, thus becoming thirty-six in total. Furthermore, observing those virtuous dharmas being summarized into the three trainings, thereby determining the number of the six perfections, also as it is said in the former, "Taking the three trainings as the main thing, the Victorious Ones truly explained the six perfections, the first three, the last two each two, one also belongs to all three." That is, because there is no attachment to the object of giving, the discipline becomes completely pure, and from that, one becomes endowed with the four qualities of a renunciate, so it is patience, that is, the first three are summarized into the higher training in discipline. Meditation is summarized into the higher training in concentration, and wisdom is summarized into the higher training in wisdom, so the last two each two, and diligence belongs to all three, so it becomes the helper of all of those. These are also related like cause and effect, and exist in the difference of inferior and superior, coarse and subtle. As that very text says, "The latter arises dependent on the former, because it exists in inferior and superior, and because of coarse and subtle, so these are taught in sequence." And also, the meaning of the ultimate fruit is also combined with the Perfection of Wisdom. As it is said in the Engaging in Bodhisattva Deeds, "All these limbs, the Sage said are for the sake of wisdom." Like that. The way to practice is: giving without expecting returns or fruition, discipline without aiming for happy migrations, patience without jealousy towards all sentient beings, diligence that gathers all virtuous dharmas, concentration that excludes meditation and formless absorptions, skillful ess

The wisdom written by me, the great venerable one, as mentioned before: Giving without expecting anything in return, the discipline of not desiring rebirth, patience towards everything, diligence that gathers all virtues, as well as meditation that is not the formless realm, with wisdom combined with skillful means, relying on the six perfections, practitioners should practice accordingly. The fruits of these, in the short term, as stated in the "Ratnavali": Giving brings enjoyment, discipline brings happiness, patience brings radiance, diligence brings majesty, meditation brings peace, and wisdom brings liberation. In the long term, as mentioned before: If the form body is briefly summarized, it is born from the accumulation of merit; if the Dharma body is briefly summarized, it is born from the accumulation of wisdom. Thus, the discipline of gathering pure Dharma abides in the nature of the six perfections, so what is explained is also completely integrated. Everything can generate the arising of the path in one's own mind, and after it arises, it does not regress, and it grows more and more. Third, the discipline of benefiting sentient beings is: directly or indirectly, the mind and its corresponding mental activities that are involved in benefiting others in every way, that is its nature. That is to say, if one does not fully rely on the four means of gathering, one cannot accomplish the meaning of what should be practiced, so as stated in the "Lotus Garland": By beckoning with the hand of generosity, one should call out well, etc., as quoted before. First, after well gathering sentient beings with material generosity, guide their minds with pleasant and pleasing words, so that they develop a desire, wish, and joy in practicing the Dharma, and then let them practice the essential meaning of the Dharma that is suitable for the faculties of the beings to be tamed, that is, for those who like the Lesser Vehicle, temporarily take them in with the Dharma that corresponds to it, and then gradually guide them to the right path; for those who like the profound and vast Dharma, one should be skilled in taming them with means related to behavior and timing. As stated by the teacher Shantarakshita: Do not teach the supreme Dharma to the inferior, do not let those who have become great vessels of Dharma practice the inferior Dharma. Thus, for oneself, what means can be used to lead others into the right path
