From the motivation of giving to all. Thus, a Bodhisattva does not have these enjoyments until he obtains a completely pure intention. Although he does not have them, he practices giving with wisdom. In what way does a Bodhisattva obtain a superior and pure intention, thereby obtaining complete liberation from the lower realms? In that way, in all lifetimes, he will obtain inexhaustible enjoyments. Thus it is said. Therefore, learning the methods of giving in high places, temporarily making all body and possessions the object of aspiration, generating a vast aspiration of generosity, and combining it with the mind of enlightenment is the root and supreme of all giving. As stated in the Compendium of Perfections: The root of such giving is the mind of enlightenment, Such giving is the desire to give but not giving up, Those who constantly hold the mind of giving in samsara, The Victorious Ones say that they are supreme among givers. Thus it is said. Second, the perfection of discipline: The nature of discipline is the uncommon discipline, Divided into the discipline of abandoning evil deeds, accumulating virtuous dharmas, And benefiting others, these are the three aspects. Guarding the three doors from non-virtue is the discipline of abandoning evil deeds, Possessing the six perfections is the accumulation of virtuous dharmas, Benefiting others is benefiting sentient beings. Therefore, to correctly restrain oneself from the unfavorable aspects to be abandoned by the three doors, and to become accustomed and firm in abandoning harm to others and its root, this is the nature of discipline. It is divided into three: the discipline of abandoning evil deeds, the accumulation of virtuous dharmas, and benefiting sentient beings. Among these, the first is, from the aspect of motivation, abandoning the ten non-virtuous actions; from the aspect of its own nature, abandoning the seven actions of body and speech. In the commentary on the Entering [the Bodhisattva's Way of Life]: Because of not accepting afflictions, Because of not generating sins, Or because of binding the mind with the coolness of tranquility, Or because it is the cause of happiness, Therefore, it is the discipline to be relied upon by the noble ones. That is, it has the characteristic of abandoning seven actions. Not being attached to the three Dharma robes, having no hatred, and having right view are the motivating factors for these. Therefore, it is the motivating

The ten paths of action are explained in detail based on the discipline of guarding against wrongdoing. Thus it is said. Furthermore, in the Bodhisattva-bhumi, seven types of Pratimoksha vows are mentioned. Therefore, if a Bodhisattva holding the Pratimoksha vows abides in the Bodhisattva vows, then the actual Pratimoksha vows of either a householder or a renunciate, and the vows of restraint that are common to them, are the discipline of vows. If one cannot be a basis for the Pratimoksha vows, but is a basis for having taken the Bodhisattva vows, then the vows of restraint that protect against any faults that are common to the Pratimoksha vows and those that one has established oneself, are the discipline of vows. Second, accumulating virtuous dharmas: practicing the six perfections and other virtuous practices with four excellent qualities. As it is said in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Generosity diminishes the opposing side, is endowed with non-discriminating wisdom, fulfills all desires, and ripens sentient beings into three types." Similarly, the remaining five disciplines also have these four qualities: being free from their respective opposing sides; being accompanied by the wisdom that does not discriminate the three spheres; the activity is fulfilling the wishes of others; and the result is that the beings to be tamed are ripened into the three types of enlightenment. The opposing sides are as previously stated: "Miserliness, moral transgression, anger, laziness, distraction, and corrupted wisdom, these six." Similarly, the activity is also that generosity benefits others, and discipline makes the mind happy, etc., accomplishing the benefit of others in various ways, as previously stated: "Giving wealth and pleasing the mind, enduring harm and striving to help companions, distinguishing between taking and abandoning through miraculous powers, fulfilling the desires of others." Generally, the meaning of the word Paramita is also that it goes beyond all the virtues of worldly beings and Hearers and Solitary Realizers, therefore the word "Para" means "beyond," and "mita" means "gone," that is, Paramita. Even so, although the word Prajnaparamita can be established in meaning, it cannot be established in explanation, because "Para" is the Buddha, and "mita" is the wisdom that thoroughly distinguishes all dharmas, which has reached the other shore of samsara and nirvana, therefore Dignaga said: "Wisdom Paramita is not different, that wisdom is the Tathagata, what is realized is that meaning."
