The cooks and, ministers and, city dwellers were also overcome with grief, raising their hands and beating their chests, crying out with extreme pity: Alas! Savior! Brave one! Lord! With long beards and, the city dwellers were seen with fear, carried out through the south gate of the city and buried underground? Or buried in a wilderness temple, but eaten by crows and, vultures and, foxes, etc., and those bones burned by fire? Or thrown into the water? Or buried underground, but also pulverized by wind and, sun and, rain, scattered in all directions, and rotting there. Great king, the nature of the bodies of all beings is like this! Thus impermanent, thus unstable, thus unreliable, thus of the nature of complete destruction, short-lived, not abiding, shaking, moving, ultimately decaying, momentary, ultimately sinful, the gate of exhaustion and destruction, etc., is the nature of complete destruction! And, do not be attached to the pleasures of kingship and, power and, enjoyment of desires! Do not be proud of the fullness of life and health! As it is said, this body, which must ultimately be abandoned involuntarily, when will it be able to be given to others? Giving through the way of thinking should also be practiced repeatedly with the mind, if you do not practice in this way, the wish will mature, and now you can experience the moment when you can give up your body and life, it is also said in the Compendium of Trainings. Similarly, in the Jataka tales it says: The body that is selfless, decaying, and without essence, painful, ungrateful, and always unclean, if the body can benefit others, one who is not happy is not wise. And in the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra it says: Be attached to giving up everything, giving to sentient beings is the best. Like this. Here, what should be made accustomed to first is that the hands of a person bound by stinginess, from one hand to the other, thinking of the mind of giving, repeatedly moving to vegetables, etc., greed and attachment disappear and become strength to practice. For those who have a strong bond of stinginess from the beginning, before at home

For example, if someone has a disability in one hand, they are first taught to hold a small, worthless item in one hand and give it away with the other. Eventually, they become capable of giving generously. Similarly, we should first accustom ourselves to the thought of giving, starting with small things like a little food. Later, the power of our wisdom will gradually increase. As it says in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: 'Even for giving small things like food, the guide teaches us to start. Having become accustomed to that, later, gradually, one will even give one's own flesh. When one has the thought towards one's own body, like food and so on, then what difficulty is there in giving flesh and so on?' It also says: 'There is nothing that does not become easy with practice.' Therefore, when a Bodhisattva is training on the path, when they ascend to the peak of fulfilling generosity, they greet beggars with their eyes from afar and cultivate joy. One should regard the object of giving as: 'This is the virtuous friend who perfects my Paramita of generosity.' Thinking: 'This thing and I will surely be separated, it will abandon me, and I will abandon it. If I give now, I will not suffer from regret in the future, and without attachment, my mind will be happy.' One should train in the method of destroying stinginess and attachment through giving. As it says in the Sutra Ornament: 'Giving things, the root is in the mind, and the perfection of body and enjoyment, the two follow and accomplish, and also possess non-stinginess, giving Dharma, fearlessness, and material things. Having fully understood such giving, the wise should practice it correctly.' The giving of fearlessness is: 'The giving of fearlessness lies in protecting the lives of others, and liberating them from fear, establishing them in a place of relief.' Among these, the nature of the giving of fearlessness is: 'To place those who are frightened and terrified by fear in a place where they can breathe a great sigh of relief.' For example, being trapped in the king's prison, suffering punishment, encountering thieves, wild animals, suffering from hunger and thirst on dangerous roads, being chased by hunters, being tormented by disease and demons, and so on. Especially in the place of Samsara, except for the beings in hell
