Moreover, (the Buddha) also declared it from the Sutra Pitaka. Thus, it is stated based on scriptural support. Therefore, with skillful means, great courage, and the manifestation of the self-nature of aspirations, having vast aims for the benefit of others, and achieving great significance through attaining higher realms and definite goodness, because it transcends the world, it is without contamination, and because virtue continuously increases, it is inexhaustible. As stated in the Ornament of Clear Realization: "Vast and without contamination, of great meaning and inexhaustible, all such as generosity, should be known to have four qualities." Thus, aiming at the meaning of the text and accomplishing it, generating a powerful mind like a protector, training in the great conduct of Bodhisattvas such as the six or ten perfections and the four means of attraction, thereby entering the city of omniscience, suchness, or gradually entering the ground of the Tathagatas from the first ground through the wisdom of the Perfection of Wisdom. Why? Because Bodhisattvas properly uphold their vows, directly or indirectly promising to benefit sentient beings, and bearing the burden of downfalls, slowly walking the path to the lower realms, this is because they are struck by the demons of ignorance and unawareness. As it is said: "It is not beautiful for noble Bodhisattvas who carry the great burden of sentient beings on their heads to walk slowly. Because they are tightly bound by various bonds of self and others, they should act with a hundredfold effort." As it is said. Therefore, our teacher also went through countless eons to perfect the great conduct of enlightenment, and whatever action is undertaken, it must be related to the perfect basis for accomplishing that action. However, sentient beings, lacking wisdom, do not recognize this special basis of higher realms as the power of past good deeds, and therefore do not strive to create its cause in the future. Therefore, the more perfect it is, the more it becomes a cause for the increase of afflictions and sins, so the fruit of previously accumulated virtue, like the provisions of a long-distance traveler, is exhausted when used up. Because they do not strive to accumulate anew, they only begin to go from bad to worse in the future, and they do not care about this at all, which is a great cause for sorrow. Having understood such faults,

We, who are able to utilize consciousness, should cultivate familiarity with the path of the six perfections, such as generosity, from all aspects and in all places, so that we are not controlled by perfection, affliction, and inverted actions. As the Ornament of the Sutras says: "Enjoyment and body are perfect, and the flourishing of retinues is manifestly superior, always not being controlled by afflictions, and not being inverted in actions." Thus it is said. Among these, for the sake of others, three things are needed: generosity, discipline, and patience. For one's own sake, three things are needed: wisdom, meditation, and diligence. Among these, generosity accomplishes temporary benefits, and discipline prevents harm to others from the root, so it is more beneficial than generosity. Moreover, if one cannot endure harm from others, it will make discipline flawed, so even if others scold, one does not retort, and so on. By protecting one's mind with the four qualities of a renunciate, one needs patience that does not mind, so these three are mainly for the benefit of others. For one's own benefit, one must rely on the Perfection of Wisdom to attain the wisdom of liberation. Its opposite is mental wandering, so one must rely on the Perfection of Meditation to attain the ability to focus at will. Obtaining it in this way is not possible for the lazy, so one must exert diligence day and night without delay. Thus it is said: "Extremely diligent in the meaning of sentient beings, acting with generosity, non-harm, and patience, possessing the basis of abiding and liberation, all self-benefit is practiced." Thus it is said. Its meaning is that non-harm is discipline, abiding in focus is meditation, liberation is wisdom, and possessing the basis is diligence. As it is shown, by accomplishing all benefit for others with the first three, the latter three naturally accomplish all self-benefit. As the Ornament of the Sutras says: "Not being stingy and not harming, enduring insults and not being weary of actions, rejoicing Because of speaking well, benefiting others is also benefiting oneself." Thus it is said. Among these, by experiencing meditation based on diligence, one obtains calm abiding, and from that, the wisdom of individual analysis arises as insight, thereby attaining the wisdom of liberation.
