Destroying a country means destroying all the great countries like Campaka. There are eight certainties for ordinary people: For those who have not trained their minds, or even if they have trained, it is not certain, because some people may misunderstand the true meaning of emptiness as literal meaning and generate fear, so for these people, explain it as it is; for those who possess the Mahayana nature, when they enter this path, praise the Vinaya of the Shravakas, and make them generate faith in the Tripitaka of the Hinayana; for those who possess the Shravaka nature, they originally believe in the Pratimoksha vows that have already been established in their minds, and study for this purpose, even if it is meaningless, they proclaim the merits of the Mahayana, making them neither of the two; from the perspective of the initial motivation, for those who have not been prophesied for the Mahayana, change their minds like the rudder of a ship, praise the Mahayana, and make them abandon the paths of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas; for the sake of gain and respect, praise oneself, and slander others out of jealousy; hoping that others will see oneself as a good place of merit, even if one has not understood the profound characteristics, deceive others with the lie of being a superior human being; befriend kings and other powerful figures, rob and beat other monks; rob the patrons of the Three Jewels, and enjoy wealth without any regard; reduce and rob the enjoyment of those who have renounced the world and are engaged in meditation, give it to those who recite or read scriptures, and make them abandon the yoga of practicing according to the Dharma, these eight situations come from the Compendium of Trainings: For beings who have not trained their minds, proclaiming emptiness; those who have entered the state of Buddhahood, causing them to regress from perfect Bodhi; completely abandoning the Pratimoksha vows, making them practice the Mahayana; making them think that the learning vehicle will not cause greed and other things to be abandoned; also making them hold on to and enter the wrong path; and proclaiming one's own merits; for the sake of gain and respect; slandering others with words and reasons; saying that oneself understands profound forbearance; speaking false words; using the crime of severing the Sangha to sever others; the patrons of the Three Jewels; making them receive offerings; making them abandon tranquility; and abandoning correct enjoyment.

Those, those who give to those who recite, those are the root downfalls, the cause of the great hells for sentient beings. Thus it is said. Those, although there are eighteen in name, actually exist as fourteen, namely, the fifth root downfall of the king and the second root downfall of the minister are different, the other four are not contradictory in substance. Thus, on top of the eighteen names, adding the abandonment of the aspiration and engagement minds makes it certain to be twenty. Among them, abandoning the aspiration mind means abandoning sentient beings by generating the mind of the lesser vehicle. As it says in the Sutra of Great Secret Skillful Means: 'Son of lineage, this dwelling by a Bodhisattva with the thought of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas is a heavy root downfall of the Bodhisattva.' Moreover, on top of that, adding the abandonment of the engagement mind as stated in the Heap of Jewels Sutra, not engaging in virtuous deeds, makes it twenty. Abandoning the engagement mind is also clearly stated as a downfall in the Moon Womb Sutra and the Space Womb Sutra. The eighty secondary transgressions are: abandoning pleasure and pain, twenty-four; abandoning practice, sixteen. How these are subdivided into eighty should be seen in the Compendium of Trainings. Here, the followers of the great Nagarjuna consider that the way of arising also arises from a pure lineage. For this purpose, even if there are the seven-limbed offering and a sangha like an ocean, they do not ask about obstacles beforehand, nor do they ask about the trainings afterwards. It is not necessarily certain to take both the aspiration and engagement minds at once, although one must take the aspiration mind training that is certain until perfect enlightenment. However, the engagement mind training can be taken and practiced according to the recipient's level of mind, up to the extent that they can protect it. As it is said in the Compendium of Trainings: 'Even if one cannot protect other trainings while practicing one training, it will not become a downfall.' Thus, one should also take the vows in conjunction with one's own strength and thus hold the vows. Thus it is said. What is to be protected is also protecting the nineteen or twenty root downfalls, and it is considered that one can arise no matter how many times one takes them. Therefore, in order to show the methods of repentance in all ways, one follows them. In short, even if one sees sin in a dream.
