Therefore, it becomes immeasurable. As it is said. In short, the virtue that is encompassed by the three superiorities is called the virtue that is in accordance with liberation. That is, at the time of application, it is encompassed by the superior mind of benefiting sentient beings; at the time of the main practice, it is encompassed by the superior wisdom of non-objectification; and at the time of the subsequent practice, it is encompassed by the superior dedication that is like a dream or illusion. These three are the superior path of enlightenment or the unerring cause. Among them, the dedication that relies on the previously accumulated virtue, and the aspiration that is made without relying on the previously accumulated virtue, are known as aspiration, and there is this difference between the two. Because in the dedication of Vajra Banner, the virtue that will be done in the future is also dedicated. Therefore, distinguishing the two solely on the basis of whether the root of virtue existed previously is detrimental to this reason (the dedication of Vajra Banner). When making aspirations, there are also two situations: being associated with the root of virtue of good intention and not being associated with it. The first situation is the nature of great compassion and loving-kindness, and everything is the virtue of great generosity. Therefore, Jayananda also said in the commentary on the *Bodhicaryāvatāra*: "Aspiration and generosity are also complete dedication, it is not that aspiration does not completely dedicate." Therefore, whether the root of virtue existed previously or arises later, relying on a virtue with an object is dedication, and expressing it in a way that is arbitrary, whether with a good or bad intention, is aspiration. It is reasonable to analyze this. If that is the case, then is there no dedication for non-objective virtue? If it is thought that good and evil exist in nature, that is the view of the Samkhya school. Because the dharmadhatu that we desire is free from the three times and the three realms, as well as good and evil, therefore we do not think that there is dedication for it. As it is said in the *Tathāgatasaṃyoga Tantra*: "His sins and merits, both are conceptual thoughts, the wise should abandon both." In accordance with this, the *Prajñāpāramitā* also extensively explains it. If one measures the merit of performing such seven-branch practice properly, as it is said in the *Śrīmālādevīsiṃhanāda Sūtra*: "Whoever to the Buddhas of the ten directions, with palms joined in mindfulness, makes prostrations, likewise offerings or objects of offering, also rejoices in merits, sins also confesses truthfully, exhorts

Whoever prays for the field, their accumulation of merit will always fill the sky. So it is said. Contentment. If one is not satisfied with the drink of nectar, then one should not cling to the clouds of offerings held in the mind, for fear of wandering to the end of solitude, one should also pay attention to offering one's own body as a seat. In general, although the various forms of offering manifest the taming of one's mind, ordinary people are not familiar with contentment and are tormented by the heat of greed. Those clouds of offerings that are not held in the mind, etc., because they are cut off from the object of giving, can eliminate the fault of wandering only in words. Although one does not have worldly possessions, one's own self and so on still exist, and one should not cling to the single aspect of the object of focus as supreme, so one should also offer one's own body as a seat for the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. As Shantideva said: I offer this body as a seat to the Buddhas and their children, please accept me with compassion. And as it is said in the Vajra Sequence: The Buddhas of the ten directions together with their children, the powerful Buddhas, the present me, the future nature, all sentient beings, offer their bodies for three necessities, and transform into vessels for supreme merit. Thus, the Sugatas of the ten directions together with their children, relying on the existing guide, believe in the past Buddhas, and by offering their bodies, they obtain the necessity of mastering the five wisdoms of body, speech, mind, qualities, and activities. Power, that is, offering one's body to the present Buddha Lama, becomes the necessity of a vessel capable of obtaining the supreme wisdom of all Buddhas. The realm of sentient beings who will become Buddhas in the future is the pervader of the Tathagatagarbha, and by offering their bodies, there is the necessity of accomplishing the ultimate benefit of sentient beings. Therefore, it is said: For the Sugatas, power, and sentient beings, offer your body for three necessities. So it is said. Taking refuge in the Three Jewels and vowing to become their servant, their shade is as delicate as a Soga flower, even in the face of the Yama, the Lord of Death, who is full of confusion, one does not know its value, and it can destroy the wrinkles of anger. Thus, taking refuge in the Three Jewels and vowing to become their servant is of great significance. The shade of their compassion is like the light of a firefly.

Just as suffering beings in hell can catch their breath under the shade of blossoming sal trees, those seized by wrathful and fierce messengers of Yama, terrified by great horrors, even those whose brows are furrowed with fear of the Dharma, will undoubtedly be protected by those of inexhaustible compassion, who will vanish in an instant upon remembering the Three Jewels. As it is said: 'Whoever sees Yama, the messengers and other hateful beings, scattering in fear in all directions, I take refuge in the Vajra-holder.' This is clear. However, these beings are so overwhelmed by the power of their evil deeds that even vowing to be servants of the ever-beneficial Three Jewels, and merely thinking 'I am their slave,' brings immeasurable merit. Yet, such a thought never even occurs to them in a whole lifetime. Seeing how wicked people like kings oppress others with their power, cutting off limbs, hanging them, putting them on racks, intoxicating them with alcohol, controlling their bodies and lives, and enslaving them, even though these people were not originally their slaves, they still go to great lengths to serve them. Seeing this, one becomes weary. Therefore, the glorious Ngakgi Wangchuk Drakpa said: 'This is done, then tomorrow this is done again, then that is done, and then something else is done. Not knowing the changing nature of existence, they seek trust in vain. Beings are like boats entering the mouth of a crocodile, the lord of death. Before the task is finished, they fall into the whirlpool of the country's waters.' Like that. Therefore, the power of delusion overwhelms the sinful self. Like a clear crystal that has been carefully cleaned, in the mind that has been purified by merit, the image obtained through the rite of generating the mind appears. Thus, the seven-limbed practice and the ways of training the mind that are connected before and after are of great importance. We are not like those with wrong views who claim that things arise without cause or from a creator, but rather we have been wandering in samsara since beginningless time, and in countless lifetimes, we have been overwhelmed by the power of delusion, as ignorant as cattle, and driven by karma.
