Looking ahead with unobstructed eyes, one should properly accept them with strong faith in them and extreme longing for their very nature. So it is said. The actual situation of acceptance is that it is not primarily aimed at beautifying the text by focusing on ornate language, but at taming the mind by focusing on benefiting, and according to the tradition of the master Shantideva, all the bodies of the Bodhisattva's treasury are without omission, until the essence of Bodhi. With the verse "Until the essence of Bodhi," one takes refuge in a non-common way. Here, if one wants to distinguish the ways of taking the aspiration Bodhicitta and the action Bodhicitta, then according to the difficult explanation of the "Entering the Way of the Bodhisattva" by the great master Krishna, if one wants to generate Bodhicitta, then one should recite three times: "As the Sugatas of the past, first generated the mind of Bodhi." From then on, one is called a Bodhisattva and possesses the aforementioned qualities. If one wants to take both the Bodhicitta and the vows, then one should recite three times: "As the Sugatas of the past, first generated the mind of Bodhi, and the training of the Bodhisattvas, they abide in them in order. Likewise, for the benefit of beings, I also generate the mind of Bodhi, and likewise, in the training, I will learn in order." So it is said. However, following the statement in the "Compendium of Trainings" that the action mind and the vows are of the same meaning, here we do not separate the rituals of aspiration and action, nor do we regard the vows as an independent part. Moreover, merely thinking of attaining Buddhahood for the benefit of others is only a casual generation of the mind. Why? Because as the "Lamp for the Path" says: "Without turning back, one should vow to generate the mind of Bodhi." Thus, generating the mind of Bodhi with all sentient beings as the object, and vowing not to abandon it until one attains Bodhi, is the aspiration mind with characteristics. If one can learn its training, then one should know how to connect the words "As the Sugatas of the past, first generated the mind of Bodhi, likewise, for the benefit of beings, I also generate the mind of Bodhi," etc., and take the aspiration mind.

The ritual for entering the (Bodhi)citta is to receive it as usual, because in reality, it is distinguished according to whether one can learn what is to be learned. In the precepts of the Bodhisattva, the two lines, "They abide in order," should be understood as distinguishing whether or not the vows of entry can be conferred. Here, it is to explain the ritual of the Bodhisattva vow that combines aspiration and action according to the tradition of the teacher Nagarjuna and the noble Shantideva. On the basis of taking refuge in the Three Jewels, awakening (Bodhi)citta through three requests is the true acceptance of the aspiration and vows of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and their retinues. Even though the thorn of the afflictive obscuration has been cut off, one still craves the taste of the cognitive obscuration. Liberating from those who have not been liberated, such as the Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Arhats, liberating from beings who are completely entangled by the bonds of both, from Brahma and other ordinary beings to those who abide among the noble learners, placing the three lower realms, which cannot obtain a chance to breathe from the intense panting of extreme suffering, in a state of obtaining a great chance to breathe. In short, leading all beings who are immersed in the wheel of the twelve links of dependent origination into the city of non-abiding Nirvana. The statement held by the joyful ritual relies on the tradition of previous sages. Among them, some individuals receive it themselves in the presence of the Holy Ones, or it is similar to the way beginners and ordinary people receive it from a Lama, but if receiving it from a Lama, then the Lama himself should tame the mind after explaining the faults of samsara and the benefits of liberation, especially the nature of Bodhicitta. The words of acceptance are received from the ritual described in the chapter on ethics and in the Compendium of Trainings, or the receiver bathes, puts on good clothes, generates the perception of the virtuous friend as the Buddha, prostrates, offers a mandala, offers resources, offers the seven-branch offering, and then kneels with the right knee on the ground, joins the palms, and with a mind free from anger and other obstacles, free from the two extremes of aversion to the edge of samsara and attachment to the edge of peace, measures with a mind of joy and delight in Bodhicitta.
