Just as planting seeds benefits sentient beings, due to the power of the past aspirations of the Buddhas, great compassion naturally and spontaneously arises in the realm of sentient beings, hence it is called unbiased love. Regarding this, the Bodhisattva-bhumi states: "Focusing on sentient beings is common with non-Buddhists. Focusing on the Dharma is common with all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Being without focus is not common with any of them." Thus it is said. Although that is so, the root of bearing the burden of the Great Vehicle is great compassion, as taught in the Inexhaustible Intellect Sutra: "Venerable Sharadvatiputra, the great compassion of the Bodhisattvas is inexhaustible. Why is that? Because it is the forerunner. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, for example, the in-and-out breath is the forerunner of the life force of a person. Similarly, the great compassion of the Bodhisattva is the forerunner of the perfect accomplishment of the Great Vehicle." And as it says in the Arya Dharma Samgraha Sutra: "Bhagavan, Bodhisattvas do not need to study extremely many Dharmas. Bhagavan, if a Bodhisattva well holds and realizes one Dharma, all the Buddha-dharmas are in his hand. What is that one Dharma? It is great compassion. Bhagavan, with great compassion, all the Buddha-dharmas are in the palms of the Bodhisattvas. Bhagavan, for example, wherever the precious wheel of the Chakravartin king is, there is the assembly of all the armies. Bhagavan, similarly, wherever the great compassion of the Bodhisattva is, there are all the Buddha-dharmas. Bhagavan, for example, if the life force exists, the other faculties will arise. Bhagavan, similarly, if great compassion exists, the other dharmas of the Bodhisattva will also arise." Thus it is said. Therefore, even if one experiences the mind of compassion once, it is easy to transform into everything from every aspect. Because the dispositions and inclinations of sentient beings are different and their actions are evil, one should learn the

Because it is difficult to do and there are many cases of discouragement, there is a possibility of falling into the Lesser Vehicle. In the "Lamp for Cultivating the Actual Bodhicitta" by the teacher Ashvaghosa, it says: Some people also do virtuous deeds, But because they do not understand the meaning of detachment, Like the happiness in a dream, Even if they obtain it temporarily, it will disappear again. Therefore, even for the sake of generating compassion once, one should generate joy and engage in various efforts to become accustomed to increasing it. Why? Because the mind of enlightenment can arise even through the correct guidance of others, and even if one merely obtains the name of a Bodhisattva, without needing to strive, the generation of the mind of enlightenment from the power of great compassion overwhelming one's own mind is particularly excellent, as the Bhagavan also taught in the Samadhi of the Seal of the Wisdom of the Tathagatas. Therefore, the teacher Hero said: Your mind is a jewel, It is the seed of perfect enlightenment, Hero, you alone know its essence, Other ordinary people cannot distinguish it. As it is said. Thus, for a person who possesses great compassion in their being, the practice of objects of loving-kindness is: Oneself, initially freed from the suffering of birth, With the senses awakened to objects, even experiencing subtle feelings of pleasure and pain, yet not knowing what to accept or reject. A body like a worm, covered in impure filth, A repulsive odor, yet the mother takes it into her arms, Bathes and cleans it, warms it with her body temperature, nourishes it with milk, gazes at it with loving eyes, wipes away impurities with her hands, endures harm, and even if the behavior is inconsistent, she regards it as the dearest in her heart. Fearing that it will die when it grows up, fearing that it will get sick when it grows up, fearing that it will be hungry when it is young, fearing thirst, fearing cold, thus avoiding unpleasant things, seeking pleasant things and nurturing them. Giving all possessions, not forgetting affection, disregarding sins, sufferings, and bad names for the sake of the child, and not even considering body and life. Since this is the case, who would not know such kindness and not repay it? As it is said in the Letter to a Friend: A child born in the lap
