In the middle, non-virtuous dharmas that have not arisen are not caused to arise; those that have arisen are cut off. Virtuous dharmas that have not arisen are caused to arise; those that have arisen are cultivated to increase, and the antidote is selflessness, contemplating illusion or dreams, and so forth. In the accumulation path, the four legs of miraculous power are: internally, cultivating the samadhi of the union of calm abiding and insight, with one-pointed mind, thereby accomplishing the meaning of the eye, clairvoyance, miraculous powers, and so forth. Furthermore, because the mind is made workable by meditation and accomplished by strength, it is called the four legs of miraculous power. These are the four samadhis of aspiration, effort, mind, and conduct. The meaning of this is also stated in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Having fixed the mind on the object, do not let it be distracted. If distraction is quickly realized, one should learn it again." Secondly, combining non-conceptual wisdom with the path of seeing is the characteristic of the path of joining, the basis of the body being any of the five realms of beings, and the basis of the mind being any of the six meditation grounds. The nature of the path is in the four: heat, peak, forbearance, and supreme dharma. Among these, in the heat and peak stages, the five faculties are cultivated, namely the faculty of faith, the faculty of effort, the faculty of mindfulness, the faculty of samadhi, and the faculty of wisdom. Because they generate purification, they are the five incorporeal faculties. The method of cultivation is to first generate bodhicitta, and then, regarding the impermanence of the four truths, or the meaning of knowing all dharmas as the two truths, to cultivate with faith in the manner of conviction, to generate joy with effort, to enter the stream of realization with mindfulness, to unite the mind one-pointedly with samadhi, and to cultivate with wisdom in the manner of knowing the nature. In the forbearance and supreme dharma stages, the five powers are cultivated, namely the power of faith and so forth, combined and cultivated as before, and the method of cultivation is also the same. The definition is that it is called power because it destroys opposing factors. Thus, the order of wisdom of the four parts of the path of joining, with the distinction of small, medium, and large, is called the twelve parts of conformity with definite emergence, that is, according to their order, the heat stage obtains appearance, which is the worldly cultivation of seeing all dharmas as mere appearances of the mind.

For the unborn wisdom and the slightly obtained appearances, it can act as an antidote to clinging to reality. The increase of the peak appearance means: In order to increase the appearance of the Dharma, diligently cultivate selflessness, thereby obtaining the middle level of worldly meditative appearance. The forbearance position is to enter one part of that Suchness, which refers to obtaining the highest degree of worldly meditative appearance said by the Consciousness-only School, thereby playing an antidote to clinging to the general appearance. The highest worldly Dharma immediately following is: The perfection of worldly meditative arising without the distraction of clinging to reality. There is no gap between the Mahayana Seeing Path and others. Among them, the heat position and the peak position are called small, which is the preparatory path where the time of the arising of the Seeing Path is uncertain. The forbearance position is medium, which is the preparatory path where the Seeing Path will definitely arise in the next life. The highest worldly Dharma is great, which is the preparatory path where the Seeing Path will definitely arise in this life. This path has five characteristics that surpass the lower positions: In the difference of antidotes, there are refuting antidotes, eliminating antidotes, support antidotes, and delaying antidotes, and here the eliminating antidote is the main one. The difference of elimination is: liberation from the seeds of afflictions, the decline of manifestation, and the poverty and decline of ordinary beings. The difference of realization is: realizing the wisdom arising from cultivation and the two kinds of selflessness. The difference of merits is: having many merits such as samadhi, eyes, supernatural powers, and magical transformations. The difference of surpassing the accumulation path is: Although the great accumulation path and the arising from cultivation are the same, there are differences in the distance of the Seeing Path and whether the warmth of wisdom is stable or not. The "Commentary on the Eight Thousand Verses" says: "If there is no obstacle, the Dharma of the Seeing Path will arise quickly," which can be understood as the difference here corresponding to the part of liberation. Third, because the nature of Dharma is actually seen, it is called the Seeing Path. Its definition is: As the "Sutra Requested by Sagacious Intelligence" says: "The eye of Dharma has no dust, is free from defilement, and is completely pure," so it is the Seeing Path. And "very pure" refers to the wisdom of the eighth ground Bodhisattva. The support of the body is any of the five realms, and the support of the mind is the four dhyanas. Among them, what Dharma manifests
