She was wearing ragged clothes and carrying a begging bowl, so it was easy to see her even when she arrived at the enemy's house. After saying this, the Khenpo (abbot) gave his approval. As it is said, in the Jataka tales of being born as Indra: Therefore, those who practice Dharma protect the nature of Dharma. And so on, there is much to discuss. However, using these as reasons to despise and denigrate those who are regarded as ordinary lamas is never reasonable. Because of the connection with Dharma and vows, whether good or bad, one will incur great harm to oneself, so one must be wise in relying on a guru. In the Gongdü (Compendium of Intentions) it says: Once taken as sacred, whether definitely sacred or not, how could one possibly break the command? If that bond is broken, one will be tormented in the Vajra Hell. And as it says in the Treasury (Abhidharmakosha): Even if not noble, for parents, the sick, and those who speak Dharma, and for the Bodhisattva who is the last of births, it is said that their merit is immeasurable. As it says in the Jataka tales: When King Tsangjin (Brahmadatta) was speaking, a fierce yaksha in a terrible form, in order to turn him away from sin, recited a verse, and for the merit of that verse, he vowed to give his body as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, and he gave away his son and wife without hesitation. Therefore, without examining from the point of view of faults, think of the kindness of the Dharma, and whether it is discipline, great learning, great compassion, faith, or generosity, even if one does not possess all of these qualities, one should train the mind solely on contemplating the aspect of its virtues. As it says in the Vajrapani Abhisheka Tantra: Hold the virtues of the teacher, never hold the faults. Holding the virtues, one will attain accomplishment, holding the faults, one will not attain accomplishment. Like this, even if the lama is endowed with virtues, if one examines him from the point of view of even a slight fault, it will become a great obstacle to one's own attainment of accomplishment. Once, the teacher Buddha Yeshe Zhap asked Jampal Shenyen for advice, and when he returned to his own country to teach Dharma to many disciples, he was ashamed to prostrate to the teacher who came in the guise of a yogi, so he pretended not to see him. Later, when the disciples had left, he went to prostrate, and the teacher said: Why didn't you prostrate just now? He falsely said: I didn't see you.

Both eyes were sunken into the ground. By begging for forgiveness again, he obtained the eye of wisdom. Likewise, if there is even a slight impurity in the perception of the guru's faults, or if there is doubt, there are many reasons why both supreme and common accomplishments are obscured. If, even for those with many faults, the habit of perceiving them as faults is cut off, and only the aspect of virtue is examined, and if that does not captivate the mind, then think: "This holy person has also practiced holy conduct from previous lives, possessing virtues, and therefore is now connected to us as a spiritual friend. Just as our teacher Shakyamuni Buddha also perfected the six perfections by relying on Devadatta in a previous life." One should think like this. In the Lotus Sutra, it says: "The Bhagavan, having become a king, made the aspiration to attain perfect enlightenment, but his mind did not change. In order to perfect the six perfections, he gave up his kingdom, enjoyments, and even his head and limbs. When he began to seek the Dharma, he rang a bell and said: 'Whoever can teach me the Dharma, I vow to be his servant.' Devadatta transformed himself into a sage and taught the Lotus Sutra. Having heard it, he rejoiced and took on the tasks of the sage, such as taking grass roots, tree roots, water roots, tubers, and fruits, and even guarding the gate. At night, he even held the foot of the bed. In this way, he spent a whole year without physical or mental fatigue. The Bhagavan said: 'The monk Devadatta is also my spiritual friend. By relying on Devadatta, I have perfected the six perfections.'" From here, it is explained in detail how all the accumulations for enlightenment were perfected by relying on Devadatta. Then it says: "Monks, you should have faith and understand." Also, in the world called "Ladder of the Gods," he was prophesied to attain Buddhahood as "Tathagata King of the Gods." Therefore, one has the right to examine at the beginning, but once there is a connection of even one verse, there is no place to look for his faults. In the Cloud of Jewels Sutra, it says: "By relying on the guru, one knows that virtue increases and non-virtue decreases. Therefore, whether the Khenpo is learned
