Even if there are slight faults, one should think that all worldly words are inherently false, like illusions that are different inside and out, all hypocrisy and deception. Why can't one endure it? Therefore, in the Sutra Pitaka, it says: This holy one is the master of the land, he is my protector, all worldly words are certainly all illusions. These slight deceptions do not hinder the holy one. Seeing this in a brief moment, since it is like this, then how is it? So it is only temporary endurance. If others sow discord, showing as if upset by pretense, one should also think that if there is no fault, then it is the cause of the exhaustion of sins. In general, even if there is no fault in the guru's place, it arises from the improper behavior of those who are nearby. Therefore, one should reflect on one's own faults and strive to confess, so that one can avoid errors in dependent origination. In terms of conduct, the way to rely on the guru is: When the guru rises, one should not sit on the seat. When seated, one should inquire about the illness and offer necessities. When departing, one should not walk in front or behind, nor follow from the right. Seats and mounts, etc., are inferior and diminish merit. Slamming doors, flaunting coquetry, frowning. Lying, making rash promises, laughing loudly, saying irrelevant things. Without respect or fear, doing as one pleases. One should abandon these and rely on the guru with body, speech, and mind subdued and peaceful. In this world, even for kings and officials who only give happiness, fame, and a little food and clothing in this life, one must employ body, speech, and life as servants to serve them. One can also endure the five-fire asceticism and other practices of outsiders. Therefore, aiming for liberation and omniscience, serving the guru with body and speech is to obtain great benefit from a meaningless body. As mentioned earlier: Even if one does not understand all the Dharma, if one can respectfully serve the guru who has become a holy being, one can cross the ocean of samsara. Therefore, when the guru rises, one should not suddenly stand up from the seat. When seated, one should spread one's own clothes, etc., on the seat as an offering, inquire about the illness, and offer necessities. When departing, one should prepare a dust cloth on the road, lay down cushions, hold an umbrella, lay down carpets, etc., and wrap up dirty or stained objects, as well as mounts and riding equipment.

And other gatherings together, and oneself also goes as an attendant. Among them, the right side is the front of the line, so it should be prevented; going from the front is the first, so it is not allowed; going from the back will incur the fault of trampling on footprints, so it should be prevented; going from the left is permissible, because in a roundabout way, oneself is also included, and there is no fault of collision or anything else. Similarly, do not step on shoes, clothes, cushions, mounts, and the shadow of the body. Unless there is a special situation, do not act in the same residence and corridor, do not measure the body, do not compare size with oneself, do not spit or blow your nose in front of the尊者, do not smoke in a lotus position and in a flirtatious manner, do not show stiff behavior, do not walk, sit, or lie unsteadily, do not open and close doors violently, do not glare, do not frown and clap your hands, do not point with your fingers, do not stretch your hands and feet, do not sit like idlers, these should be avoided. In short: In the same place with the saints, except for the attendant, never (do so). Do not step on the shadow of the body, nor raise footprints. Clothes, hand cushions, cushions, etc., should never be stepped on. Disrespectful and other irregular behaviors are also not dignified in front of the saints. So it is said. Similarly, the faults of mind and speech are: In the pride of wisdom, it is asked: The cause of the black world, the mind is the root of poison. In order to produce sinful words, the mouth is the gate of sin. So it is said, especially holding opposite views on the behavior of the virtuous friend, coveting the teacher's wealth and activities, jealousy, arrogance, slander, harmful intentions, harm, contempt for lineage, appearance, and enjoyment, etc., these are the invisible faults of the mind. And lies, discord, harsh words, frivolous talk, disobeying teachings or contradicting words, holding grudges, arguing, speaking ill behind one's back, etc., saying these a hundred or a thousand times at other times is not as bad as saying them once in front of the teacher, etc., because it will become the work of demons, so the sin is heavier.
