except for the sole purpose of benefiting others. He never engaged in activities such as summer retreats, winter retreats, village ceremonies, or black offerings for the living and the dead, which are claimed to be for the sake of the Dharma and virtuous conditions, not even for a single day. Because he wholeheartedly embraced the conduct of humility, he had no means of livelihood through divination or other such practices. According to common understanding, he lived as a renunciate and hermit, but due to the power of his past aspirations and accumulation of merit, all his needs were effortlessly and spontaneously fulfilled. As it is said, "The fragrance of flowers does not travel with the wind; neither does the fragrance of a hundred-rooted herb or sandalwood. But the fragrance of the virtuous does not travel with the wind; the fragrance of the noble pervades all directions." Like the gods of the earth proclaiming the fame of his great qualities, countless lamas, officials, and male and female devotees from all directions gathered, offering according to their means, seeking refuge, making dedications, and offering continuous support. However, he never wasted even a needle's point of these offerings in vain. Instead, he used them to build the three supports of the precious ones, to honor lamas and the Sangha, to make regular offerings, and to help the poor, opening the door to the treasury of the sky without end. Although there is no opportunity to describe these things in detail, here I will briefly mention only the most important of them. First, regarding temples and the supports of body, speech, and mind, as stated in his own words and in his biography, he built about thirteen temples, taking full responsibility from beginning to end. In addition, he also built many branch temples to promote virtuous deeds through donations and facilitation. The most important of these was the Manifest Enlightenment Temple (mngon byang lha khang) at the top of Dzongsar Trashi Lhatse, with fifty-five pillars, beautifully decorated inside and out, completed in a short time. The main object of veneration inside was the Shakyamuni Buddha statue, with its throne and backrest adorned with various precious jewels, of the highest quality. The Shakyamuni Buddha statue was a genuine Hor copper statue, surrounded by Buddhas
