Moreover, you repeatedly taught that it is difficult to have good circumstances, which must be the teachings of someone with realization. However, some say, "This is dependent arising," and do Mongolian divination, drink strong alcohol, race horses, shoot arrows, fire guns, hunt, sing, dance, prophesy, have gods descend, have ghosts descend, and so on, as if intoxicated by strong alcohol with life force. People like me cannot measure people by human standards, so it is absolutely impossible to determine good or bad. In general, virtuous people are ashamed from the bottom of their hearts. Moreover, since the time of King Trisong Detsen, there have only been two groups: monks wearing round hats and yogis wearing robes. There has never been a third group of thieves who do divination. If someone is fair-minded and thinks about the sutras and tantras, they would think so. But what can you expect from those with heavy negative karma? Some people have many fierce arguments about the tenets of various schools, especially strong sectarian biases towards self-emptiness and other-emptiness, arguing endlessly. However, when Je Tsongkhapa explained the tenets of each school, he did not mix in Buddhist terminology, but used simple and easy-to-understand language, and said some conciliatory words. In general, the essence to be established by the tenets is the nature of all dharmas, which is what the Prajnaparamita Sutra says: "Dharmata is not knowable, nor can it be known." Not only that, but even Ngok Lotsawa Chenpo, the crown jewel of all logicians in Tibet, considered that ultimate reality is not only not the object of conceptual thought, but not even the object of attachment. Then, no matter how deep the wisdom of inner contemplation is, it cannot completely determine the ultimate reality. If it is only temporarily measured from a certain angle, then each Buddhist term established by the great masters has a lot of proofs and reasons, so one should follow their own tradition, and if one can firmly establish the intention of the previous gurus, it is very good, and there is no need to be too biased. However, if Buddhist terms and tenets are confused with each other, or if one does not grasp the root of one's own tenets and relies on the strength of other tenets as a support, or if all the scriptures of view, meditation, conduct, and result are mixed together like the tangled thread of an evil woman, then the scriptures...

According to Ön, those who cannot uphold the three aspects of 'gyi gsum' lack faith in their own doctrine. They should not seek to emulate others. Wise individuals would only find it a source of laughter, so it is better to maintain one's own stance. Some people claim, 'This is a treasure prophecy,' or 'My so-and-so guru said this,' and merely by having met some individuals from their own side or having received empowerment, they excessively praise them as representatives of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, claiming they will not fall into lower realms. On the other hand, some people claim that even associating with those who possess visible qualities of wisdom, virtue, and excellence will lead to lower realms. However, Je Rinpoche himself said that it is good to praise one's own guru with devotion, seeing them as a Buddha from the heart, not just out of worldly attachment. Even if one does not have faith in the Dharma and virtuous individuals of other traditions, one should not engage in slanderous accusations based on wrong views, as that is an act of abandoning the Dharma, which is more severe than the five heinous crimes. Some treasure prophecies are also clearly fabricated by foolish and malicious individuals who falsely invoke Orgyen Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) and create new disturbances with attachment and hatred. Even if a treasure document is taken from a reliable source, one should consider its intention, necessity, and potential harm to actual matters. It is foolish to rely solely on that source and slander important Dharma and individuals. Not to mention clinging to such things, one should cover one's ears even upon hearing them. As it is said, 'Therefore, it is taught that foolish and malicious individuals should be somewhat cautious about such matters.' As stated in the Sutra of the Noble Dharma of No Arising of All Dharmas: 'Son of lineage, subtle is the obscuration of karma. Those who do not desire the obscuration of karma should not be angry at the actions of others. They should have faith in all their actions. They should generate the thought: I do not know the minds of others, the actions of sentient beings are difficult to know.' Considering that meaning, the Tathagata teaches thus: 'One should not measure another. If one measures another, wounds will arise. I or others, and those like me, measure others.'
