As it is said in the Sutra Pitaka, "Because of having mindfulness, one subdues among them." As it is said, one should nourish the elements with mindfulness and awareness. That is also common: by bending the whole body, prostrating to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and repeatedly praying, one should lie down. Pray that all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas bless me, grant me the supreme accomplishment and excellence, and pray that all near harms be eliminated. And with the yoga of one's desired deity: Namo Bhagavate Arya Prajnaparamitaye, Sarva Tathagata Aparimitapuritaye, Tadyatha, Om Siddhi Siddhi, Buddha Buddha, Bodhaya Bodhaya, Cala Cala, Tisthati, Hi Kampakampa, Vara Vara, Gaccha Gaccha, Agaccha Agaccha Bhagavati Mabilamba Svaha. Recite this dharani twenty-one times on the right hand, place the head on it, and lie down in the lion's posture. Tomorrow morning, get up early and think, "I will engage in virtuous deeds." If one falls asleep in a state where oneself and all appearances are as clear and bright as the rising sun, then waking up in the morning will be easy, the elements will be clear, and one will be happy to engage in virtuous deeds. ༈ In particular, the meaning of the excellent aspiration of the Noble Deeds, if one wishes to practice the sleeping meditation of Amitabha, the oral instruction of the great accomplished Jetaari, then take refuge and generate bodhicitta as appropriate. All places are the Pure Land of Sukhavati, in the center of the perfect arrangement, one visualizes oneself as the Noble Avalokiteshvara, in front, on a lotus and moon cushion, Amitabha Buddha, with a red body, holding a nectar-filled begging bowl in meditative equipoise, with two legs in the vajra posture, adorned with silks and precious jewels. Around him are the root and lineage lamas and the assembly of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, abiding as if present. Having clarified this, prostrate three times in mind, and recite the seven-branch offering from the Excellent Conduct Prayer, either in detail or in brief, three times. I prostrate, offer, and take refuge in the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, the Protector Amitabha. May all my sins and obscurations be purified, may I be born in the realm of Sukhavati, and quickly

Please bless me to receive the prophecy of enlightenment. By praying three times, generate the definite understanding that all sins and obscurations have been purified. Abandon attachment to body, possessions, relatives, etc. Strongly generate the wish and joy of going to Sukhavati after death, and generate the confidence of not fearing death. Then, along with exhaling, one's own mind dissolves into the heart of the Victorious One. At the time of entering, from the heart of the Victorious One, one's own mind dissolves into the heart in the form of light. The heart of the Victorious One and one's own mind, remain in a state of inseparable oneness. Thus, recite or contemplate its meaning, and visualize clearly and firmly three times, etc. The field of merit in front dissolves into light. It dissolves into Amitabha. That also dissolves into oneself, and oneself also dissolves into light, dissolving elaborations, dissolving into the expanse. Thus recite, and keep the three—Buddha, Yidam, and one's own mind—in a state of inseparable union. Again, instantly transform oneself into the body of Amitabha. Thus, either recite the entire "Bhadrakalpika Sutra," or, if unable, recite aspirations such as "The mandala of the Victorious One is excellent," and fall asleep in a state of not being separated from the realm of Sukhavati in one's mind. The benefits of meditating uninterruptedly like this are: one will not get sick or encounter evil spirits. At the time of death, there will be no suffering. In the bardo, Tara will protect. In the future life, one will attain liberation. Thus it is said. Furthermore, those who study the path of Unsurpassed Yoga should practice according to their respective instructions, such as visualizing the deity as illusory, or entering the clear light of sleep through the method of absorption and subsequent dissolution. When the time comes to wake up at dawn, commonly, wake up with renunciation or great compassion, or with an illusory state of mind. Especially if one is diligent in sleeping meditation, then wake up from the state where oneself and all appearances are clearly appearing as the abode and support of Sukhavati. The yogi of Unsurpassed Mantra, who is uncommon, arises from the illusory deity body of union as stated in his own text, and engages in virtuous activities. If one sees oneself committing evil deeds in a dream, generate the intention to confess and take vows, and merely rejoice in virtuous deeds. If one's mind becomes disturbed by a bad dream, know that it is false.
