When blessings are received, with the nectar of the speech of the Secret Lord (Vajrapani), the desires of the mind are fulfilled, and one will conquer the disease of afflictions, as if arriving in a place full of lush trees. Thus, and so forth, is specially spoken. It is difficult to obtain leisure and endowment, and if obtained, it is of great significance. Moreover, one should contemplate greatly on the fact that it quickly decays. Firstly, it encourages practice; secondly, it becomes the cause for practice not to decline; and thirdly, it accomplishes practice to the very end. Therefore, it is extremely important. Thus it is said. By gaining certainty in the infallibility of dependent arising, cause, and effect, nihilistic views are prevented. By gaining certainty in emptiness, the absence of inherent existence in the object of clinging to characteristics, even as small as a mote of dust, one is liberated from the extreme of permanence. Therefore, the view of gaining certainty in the infallibility of cause and effect while being empty of inherent existence is a remarkable understanding that cuts through the pitfalls of both permanence and nihilism. The necessity of initially seeking the view is also for the purpose of meditating on the meaning of certainty. This is also to reverse self-grasping. Therefore, during meditation, one should also thoroughly examine the objects of the two types of self-grasping with discriminating wisdom. When certainty is gained that the characteristics of the two selves are not established in any way, one should maintain that view and sustain the continuity of certainty. If one abandons the certainty of the view and only cultivates calm abiding, it will not harm the root of samsara, self-grasping, in any way. Seeing this through the power of meaning, the Lord of Wisdom said: Without refuting this object, one cannot abandon it. Thus it is said. Arya Deva also said: When one sees the absence of self in objects, the seed of existence will be cut off. Thus it is said. Also, from the Samadhiraja Sutra: If one individually understands the selflessness of phenomena, if one individually understands and meditates on that meaning, that is the cause for obtaining the fruit of nirvana; no other cause will bring peace. Thus, with both following and reversing certainty, the wisdom of individually examining the meaning of selflessness is taught as the supreme gate to liberation. The way of abiding that is spoken of is not the object of words and realization. For example, even if one says that brown sugar has such and such a taste, just as one cannot understand it through words as one tastes it with the tongue, the words that reveal emptiness cannot express the state realized by the noble ones in meditative equipoise.

Well then, that's good. However, the realm of sound conceptualization must never be allowed, otherwise, the realization of Suchness through the general meaning of aggregation and combination would be unreasonable. It is also inappropriate to say to a student with concepts, "This is the meaning," for a meaning that cannot be understood, because no matter how much you explain, it cannot be understood. So it is said. From the biography of Panchen Lobsang Chögyen, "The Garland of Jewels": Because it was needed in the year of contradiction, he requested from a secret master the Nyingma teachings, including all the secrets of the "Lord of the Cemetery," "Lord of Life," and the "Eight Commands of Kagyü," as well as the empowerment and transmission of "Hevajra Tantra," and many other Nyingma Dharma cycles. So it appears. O Padmasambhava, the glorious, powerful, and mighty one, who tames the difficult-to-tame demons and spirits of Tibet, may your wisdom and magical power, O Protector, look upon Atisha with compassion. At that time, hundreds and thousands of people came to take the full ordination, so it was permissible for many to be ordained by the same Khenpo, or even Khenpos less than three, to ordain each other. As it is said in the "Root of the Vinaya," the house was divided into north and south, with the mandala masters residing at the boundary, so there were some cases where many needed to be ordained by a sangha with the same Khenpo. So it is said. The nectar of the secret mantra Nyingma's instructions, by the wonder of the fortunate deeds accomplished, subdues the existence of phenomena, suppressing the oath-bound ones as servants, I pray at the feet of the Lord of Yoga. The supreme guide of the Pure Land of Bliss, from the wisdom dance of Amitabha, the emanation body of the Vajra born from the ocean, I pray to the supreme sun of the teachings. He is the manifestation of great compassion, the glorious one who holds the banner of Lobsang Chökyi Gyaltsen. So it is said. The reason for being called "Secluded Kagyu" is: the common lineage is the general way in which the three lineages of profound view, vast conduct, and practice blessing are transmitted in sequence from the glorious Atisha, who possesses all three. The uncommon lineage is: the heart essence of these lineages, the near transmission, is from the venerable Manjushri to Lama Uma Pa, and from him to Je Lama. The uncommon lineage is that the venerable Manjushri personally bestowed it upon Je Rinpoche. That
