Just by observing and analyzing slightly, one determines that it is not established or produced in the slightest, and then meditates with one-pointed mind. If the object of non-arising is not clear, one clarifies and meditates by repeatedly reciting "non-arising, not truly existent." As the venerable Maitreya said, "When a Bodhisattva enters into samadhi, he does not understand the speech of the mind, and does not see all meanings." At this time, no matter how much distraction there is, it will not become an obstacle to virtuous activity, but one should understand that it is to clarify non-arising and not truly existent, and thus use it as a support to increase the virtuous activity of emptiness, just like adding wood to a burning fire. At the end of the session, relax and abide as before. Second, there are two types of post-meditation: clarifying the view and learning vast conduct. First, is: In the post-meditation after rising from that samadhi, whatever actions of body, speech, and mind are done, one should ensure that one does not stray from the previous view of emptiness by reciting "non-arising, emptiness." Second is: For those beings who have not understood in this way and instead grasp at what is not truly existent as truly existent, generate unfeigned compassion, and understand that the appearances of demons and oaths that they see are without inherent existence, like illusions. In this way, teach the Dharma of emptiness, and learn the great conduct of Bodhisattvas such as prostrations, circumambulations, making tsa-tsas, reciting dharani mantras, giving, and patience. Second, there are two types of yoga of equality: samadhi and post-meditation. The first is: First, perform the preliminaries as before. Since appearances are false and emptiness is true, there is no difference. Therefore, one should clarify the equality that is free from all extremes such as appearance and emptiness, truth and falsehood, and then meditate with one-pointed mind. If the object is not clear, clarify it by reciting "equality, equality." At this time, one should transform all distractions into support for virtuous activity, and at the end of the session, relax and abide as before. There are two types of post-meditation: clarifying the view and learning vast conduct. The first is: In all post-meditation after rising from that samadhi, one should ensure that one does not stray from the previous equality by reciting "equality, equality."

Do not deviate from this view. Second, for those sentient beings who have not realized this, generate compassion and teach the Dharma of equality, etc., as before. Third, the Yoga of Unspeakability has two parts: meditative equipoise and subsequent attainment. First, perform the preliminaries as before. Then, clarify that all dharmas are neither equal nor unequal, neither separated from nor not separated from extremes, etc., and meditate single-mindedly without speaking of anything. If it is not clear, clarify it by mentally reciting "unspeakable, unspeakable." Make all distractions friends of virtue. At the end of the session, do not mix anything into your mind. Fearing that you will fall under the power of dullness and agitation, maintain mindfulness and remain undistracted as before. Subsequent attainment has two parts: clarifying the view and training in vast conduct. First, after rising from meditative equipoise, whatever you do, do not deviate from the previous view by mentally reciting "unspeakable, unspeakable." Second, for those sentient beings who have not realized this, generate compassion and teach the unspeakable Dharma, etc., as before. Fourth, the Yoga of Non-Discrimination has two parts: meditative equipoise and subsequent attainment. First, perform the preliminaries as before. Then, examine with subtle wisdom that investigates the ultimate meaning. Existence, non-existence, both, neither; truth, falsehood, both, neither; appearance, emptiness, both, neither; birth, non-birth, both, neither, etc. Since you cannot grasp any extreme, do not look, think, contemplate, examine, or discriminate anywhere. Remain undistracted in a state of effortless ease. When you are in this state, whatever grasping of the four extremes, etc., arises, cut off the grasping of superimposition and denigration with profound wisdom. Then, let go of the grasping of the examiner himself and remain undistracted. Second, subsequent attainment has two parts: clarifying the view and training in vast conduct. First, if you examine in this way, you cannot grasp any extreme. Therefore, you abide in non-discrimination. However, for the benefit of those who cannot abide in this way, after rising from meditative equipoise
