Being pure because it is free from stains, being clear because it is not obscured by external appearances or internal awareness, and being transformable by causes such as faith, compassion, and skillful means, it possesses these three qualities, like a pure crystal ball. These two are the key to perfecting stability. When one becomes accustomed to this, if the mind naturally abides, free from deliberate fixation on an object, it is called establishing the foundation of samadhi. The third is an inner analogy, beginning with "firstly," etc. All the various thoughts that arise in this way, successively at the beginning, middle, and end, are like illusory horses and cows because they are free from the root of the four: object, master, cause, and immediate condition. Because their own essence is not established as it is, they are merely labeled by name, empty of meaning, like the son of a barren woman. Being without function, they are like cutting down a dream tree with a dream axe in a dream. In short, all phenomena that appear and are thought of in this way are similar to dream appearances. The similarity is that even though a lamp appears bright in a dream, its cause or root, the bowl, wick, oil, and fire, and the lamp's own essence, burning redly, and the lamp's function, the light that dispels darkness and the darkness that is dispelled, all of these are not inherently established. Similarly, understanding that all phenomena that appear and are thought of in this way are empty of inherent existence, and becoming accustomed to unwavering, objectless great compassion, all signs dissolve on their own, and pure activity is spontaneously accomplished. The third is the final introduction for those of middling capacity, in three parts. The first is the introduction to awakening the wisdom to be accomplished, free from defilements, through the three experiences of direct descent, such as going and coming, etc. Thus, the dharma to be accomplished is the three: bliss, clarity, and non-thought; the characteristics of these three dharmas are the three that are free from going, coming, and abiding; and their reality is emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, the three doors of liberation. That is, the appearances of thoughts, the three of going, coming, and abiding, are initially the cause of arising, in the middle the nature of abiding, and finally the result of ceasing, all of these thoughts.

The emptiness of ground emptiness is purified in the three doors of liberation, possessing the great bliss of non-leakage, naturally luminous, and non-conceptual in any place. In the state where the fruit of such bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality is manifest, good yogis whose eyes of wisdom are completely purified should always remain in equipoise. Second, the introduction of the complete meditation of accomplishment through the three of union, descent, etc., is great compassion, etc. First, the union of means is: For beings equal to the sky, placing great compassion, a mind equal to the ocean, in front, that is, going ahead, vowing to follow the vast conduct of the bodhisattvas equal to Mount Meru. Second, the union of wisdom is: Constantly examining the nature of that thought and action with discriminating wisdom, and constantly looking without distraction at what is known as the object. Third, the union of blessings is: Meditating on the deity of the yidam and supplicating through the door of the guru yoga. With such a union, practitioners should rest in the state of great bliss, tired from the proliferation of their own minds. Third, transforming the obstacles to practice into the path through the three of conceptualization, descent, etc., is son, listen, etc. Calling one's own son by a name close to that of a son, admonishing, "You listen," not distracting him elsewhere, and listening to what should be listened to. First, what should be transformed into the path is: All the conceptualizations that arise in your mindstream. Second, the reason why it can be transformed into the path is: Because that conceptualization initially did not bind me in this great ocean of samsara, and ultimately did not liberate me. For example, when the image of the moon appears in a water vessel, the water vessel does not bind the image, and when the vessel breaks and the water flows, the image of the moon is not liberated, just as the moon in the sky does not move from its nature. From the moment a conceptualization arises, the nature of reality does not move from its own place. Third, the practice of how to transform it is: First, staying without distraction, like a barber entering the battlefield. Second, leaving it uncorrected and natural, like a skilled cowherd taming an elephant. Finally, letting it go freely and skillfully.
