of luminosity. That is, although it has not arisen in the face of awareness, it is not contradictory that the very unarisen appears as the manner of arising. Just as in a dream, it is true that a child is not born, but it is not contradictory that it appears to be born in the face of being deluded by sleep. The three verses above are, in order, an introduction to primordial unborn nature, an introduction to sudden purity, and an introduction to indivisible union. The second has two parts: an introduction to the middling faculty and an introduction to the lowest faculty. The first has three parts: the best of the middling faculty is introduced with the example of the three grounds, the middle of the middling faculty is introduced with the example of the outer, inner, and intermediate, and the lowest of the middling faculty is introduced with the example of the three falls. The first has three parts, the first is the example of the posture of a wrathful deity on the ground: the right hand is extended. In this, the right hand extended is the expanse of the mind of skillful means, great compassion, the left hand contracted is drawing the mind inward with the wisdom of emptiness, the threatening finger points to identifying those who meditate on emptiness and compassion, the vajra view is aiming at the meaning of non-duality of the object and subject of observation

It should be shaken. Third, like the examples of the attendants of the king on the ground, such as the mirror of a seductive woman, etc., there are two examples of application for this, two actual examples, and two subsequent examples, showing through six aspects. Like repeatedly looking at the immaculate mirror of one's own awareness, like a seductive woman looking in a mirror; because it has the power to naturally liberate all conceptualizations of clinging to characteristics, like a giant; because the thought of wanting to be liberated from all the bonds of afflictions and conceptualizations is inseparable day and night, like a prison; be sure to make all the actions of body, speech, and mind a method to please the king of mind-essence primordial awareness through practice. For ordinary worldly behaviors, like listening and speaking like ordinary people, there is no hesitation, like a king's concubine; for all conceptualizations such as good and bad, without distinguishing between good and bad, strive to make them naturally liberated, like a broom; for any encounter that arises, train in the skill of awakening, without particularly pursuing great Dharma and goodness, etc., like a prostitute, these are the six examples. Associating with solitude: associate with the single thought and various appearances, strive to practice the skill of samadhi, this is the instruction. Second, the introduction of the middle among the middle faculties has three aspects, first, the nine external examples, such as the tiger, etc. That is, the three methods to generate the unarisen samadhi, the three limbs to transform the arisen samadhi into the path, and the three key points to bring the path to completion, this is the teaching of the nine examples. Among them, first, to destroy all delusions and afflictions, brave and fearless, like a tiger; in the middle, no matter what internal and external obstacles and harms occur, there is no fear or apprehension, like a lion; finally, no matter what various adverse conditions such as dullness and agitation, one will not retreat from the path, like an elephant entering water, these three are the three methods to generate samadhi. To transform the arisen samadhi into the path of the Great Vehicle, one needs to be skilled in the means of benefiting others, and the power to benefit others depends on the gods and the guru, so one must have devotion.

The intense suffering of desire is like a wild ass. With the thought of benefiting others, loving-kindness and compassion naturally arise, like a mountain deer. Benefiting others with methods that suit various capacities, taking various methods onto the path, like a monkey, these are three. The three key points for perfecting the path are: cooling the suffering of desire, eliminating the sickness of afflictions, and being the most excellent among all great dharmas, possessing these three dharmas is like sandalwood. The root of adverse conditions does not waver, the tip of favorable conditions does not bend, and it surpasses all ordinary consciousness, possessing these three dharmas is like the trunk of a tree. The power of apprehending characteristics is cut off, separated from the life of attachment, and there is no calculation of what to take or reject, possessing these three dharmas is like a corpse. Thus, symbolized by nine metaphors, wise practitioners who understand the profound meaning should practice emptiness as yoga. Secondly, the six intermediate metaphors are: water on a cliff, etc. Like this, generating many different kinds of strong conceptual thoughts, offering with non-conceptuality and equanimity, being extremely swift like lightning, possessing these three dharmas is like a waterfall on a cliff. All the activities of conceptual thought are of one taste in the nature of dharma, and in the nature of non-conceptuality, although there is no movement, it abides, and whatever external changes occur, they are pacified in the uncorrected nature, possessing these three dharmas is like a great ocean. The meaning of these two metaphors is to make the mind abide in non-abiding. Holding true realization more precious than one's own heart, never being able to part with that realization, and with the power of realization, not considering anything that happens as a fault, possessing these three dharmas is like a mother with an only child. Being internally tight, sometimes relaxed, and skilled in the characteristics of going and returning, possessing these three dharmas is like taming an elephant, these two are factors that make abiding more stable. Not clinging to inferior views, therefore being lofty, being free from the suffering of grasping and being grasped, therefore being cool, and maintaining an unchanging posture no matter what obstacles or faults occur, possessing these three dharmas is like a snow mountain, manifest attachment
