The meaning of. The first part has two points: the revelation of the name and the salutation of the translation. The first point is: In Indian language, it is "Pracitta" etc., if translated into Tibetan, it is "The pith instructions for relaxing one's own mind, twenty-five verses." The meaning is: One's own mind-essence, the coemergent wisdom, is primordially pure in nature. However, because this has not been realized, relying on the other-poweredness of grasping and being grasped, one has been exhausted for a long time in the ocean of samsara. A treatise that allows one to relax in the original Great Seal Jewel Island. A pith instruction that easily reveals the immeasurable great meaning with little effort. Because the length of the treatise is twenty-five verses, it is named as such. The second point is: Homage to glorious Vajrasattva! This is easy to understand. Second, the meaning of the treatise is divided into two points: revealing the fundamental nature, and transforming manifest thoughts into the path. The first part is divided into two points: general meaning and branch meaning. The first point is: In general, the way of practicing and revealing profound teachings is condensed into essence, the great translator himself said this. To reveal this meaning, it is temporarily divided into three parts: preliminary, main practice, and subsequent action. The first part has three aspects: the common preliminary, such as practicing the seven-branch offering to purify the continuum, etc.; the uncommon preliminary, such as the practice of the blessed Vajrasattva Hundred Syllable Mantra, etc.; and controlling the continuum of knowledge through a special preliminary, which is to supplicate with the fifty letters. Second, regarding the main practice: the body's mudra is to sit in a secluded place on a comfortable cushion, possessing the limbs of meditation. The speech's mudra is to maintain the natural flow of breath. The mind's mudra, first is to relax, in the middle is to remain alert, and finally is to completely let go. First, relaxation is divided into three aspects: the merits of relaxation, the faults of not relaxing, and how to relax. The merit of relaxation is that the way of abiding of the mind's reality is unfabricated, so relaxing allows one to enter that way of abiding, thus it is necessary to recognize how reality is. The fault of not relaxing is the opposite of this, because one deviates from the original state and is swayed by one's own efforts, so it is inverted.

Due to the overwhelming appearance of objects, one revolves and becomes confused involuntarily, enjoying the confusion. There are two ways to relax: relaxing and then abiding, and incidentally dispelling obstacles. The first is: casting worldly affairs behind, hoping to attain samadhi, and not forcing it even if it doesn't arise. Not engaging in any thought or analysis, not clinging to any signs of liking or disliking. Even if thoughts and analysis slightly arise, since conceptualization itself is confusion, the mind itself relaxes upon itself. When one relaxes upon oneself and abides, there is naturally a way of appearing. What is that way of appearing? It is that which cannot be altered. The reason why relaxing in an unaltered state is a profound method is also because of realizing that unaltered nature. Do not think, 'What is the use of relaxing in an unalterable state?' It is like saying the arrow is hot after it has been shot. Relaxing and abiding upon the unaltered nature is like that. As it is said: Unfabricated dharmas are the basis of all. If you wish to realize its equality, do not delight in objects, relax and abide loosely. Like that. The second is dispelling obstacles: When one relaxes and abides like that, the fluctuations of conceptualization cease, and one completely falls into a single state of non-conceptualization, which is the foolish meditation that prevents duality. Therefore, do not abide in that, but as an antidote, stir up awareness, be aware! Be alert! Be clear! Empower and abide. At that time, because the self-radiance of awareness arises, one becomes unable to separate from the clarity that arises, which is clinging to the characteristic of clarity, a dualistic dharma. Therefore, do not abide in that, but as an antidote, with a discarding mind, abide without mixing with any subtle distinctions. At that time, awareness becomes relaxed and calm, and in a state of not conceptualizing anything, a feeling of ease and joy arises, which is an artificial, self-born experience of bliss. Therefore, do not abide in that either, but with a mind of ease, completely let go. Even if one thinks one is not attached to the experience of bliss, due to the attachment of being unable to separate from the element of bliss, a cause of bondage arises. If one clings, one clings to subtle clinging dharmas deep within, and desire will increase worldly afflictions, so clinging to bliss is called falling into the desire realm. Even if one thinks one is not attached to the experience of clarity, due to the attachment of being unable to separate from the element of clarity,
