Twelve, six. Unmixed activities fifteen, three. Unmixed wisdom three, eighteen, totaling eighteen. The first set, six unmixed behaviors, are: Not engaging in inappropriate actions, such as going astray, therefore having no physical errors. Not speaking meaningless words, therefore having no verbal noise. Not losing tasks due to forgetfulness, nor missing opportunities, therefore having no loss of mindfulness. In all behaviors, not perceiving equality, subsequence, and difference as distinct, therefore having no non-equality. Not viewing samsara solely as suffering, nor only perceiving nirvana as bliss, therefore having no perception of difference between samsara and nirvana. Regarding the potential of beings to be tamed, not abandoning them without examining whether they are suitable for engaging in activities, therefore having no unexamined abandonment. The six unmixed thoughts are: Never losing the aspiration to benefit beings at all times. Never losing the diligence to go to any place where there are beings to be tamed. Never forgetting the methods of taming beings, therefore not losing mindfulness. Not losing the samadhi of abiding equally in the suchness of all dharmas. Because of having inexhaustible wisdom to teach the Dharma in accordance with the thoughts and behaviors of beings, therefore not losing wisdom. Because of abandoning the two obscurations along with their imprints, the activities of benefiting beings will not be exhausted as long as samsara exists, therefore not losing liberation. The three unmixed wisdoms are: Knowing the dharmas of the three times—past, future, and present—merely by intention, therefore having no attachment, and seeing all things without obstruction. The three unmixed activities are: Taming countless beings merely through the four behaviors and physical gestures, which is the activity of the body. Teaching the Dharma in all ways, making it suitable to the potential of beings to be tamed, which is the activity of speech. Although being free from all the elaborations of conceptual thought, the wisdom of great compassion follows beings, which is the activity of mind. The thirty-two qualities of being free from these faults have been explained above. Next, the second part is the qualities of the maturation result, the thirty-two major marks, namely, having wheels on the hands and feet.

Whatever possesses these is symbolized as a great being; this is the definition of a mark. Classification: In general, although different sutras have slightly different views, the Ornament for Clear Realization states: The hands and feet have wheel marks, and the soles of the feet are as flat as a tortoise's belly. The fingers and toes are connected by webs. The hands are soft and have the complexion of youth. His body has seven prominences: the four ankles of the hands and feet, the two collarbones, and the back of the neck; these seven are full and without depressions. The fingers are long, and the heels are wide and long; the body is tall and upright. The ankles of the feet are not visible, and the hairs grow upwards. The thighs are like those of an Erya deer, full and round like the thighs of a Baisakha deer, gradually tapering, and the arms are long and beautiful. The sheath is concealed, meaning the secret place is hidden in the folds. The skin is very pure like gold, and the skin is thin. The hairs grow one by one, curling well to the right. The ūrṇakośa (Skt. ūrṇakośa, ūrṇa-kośa, brow-hair-aperture) adorns the space between the eyebrows, like the upper body of a lion. Gradually becoming fuller. His shoulders are round, and the collarbones are level with the chest and full. Even when eating unpalatable food, it appears that he obtains the taste of a hundred excellent flavors. The body is like a nyagrodha tree, meaning the height and arm span are equal. The head has a uṣṇīṣa, and the tongue is long and beautiful. The voice of Brahma (Skt. brahmāsvara, brahma-svara, Brahma-sound) is clear and able to transform consciousness. Worthy of listening to, profound and able to proclaim accordingly, without disharmony. The sound is not coarse, and it is pleasing to the ear. Unconfused and clear, possessing five characteristics. The cheeks are like those of a lion, and the teeth have round and full edges. Very white, evenly sized, closely arranged, without obvious gaps, and very neat. The number of teeth is forty. The color of the eyes is a mixture of blue, white, and black, and the eyes are like blue lotuses. Being upright and unmixed like this, these are the thirty-two marks. In short, as an adjunct to the marks, the eighty minor marks are: the qualities of the Buddha's mind, which serve as metaphors for others to understand; this is the definition of the minor marks. Classification: The Ornament for Clear Realization states: The Buddha's nails are copper-colored, and the color
