The nature, aspects, and distinct differentiations of [things] are known without confusion, and there is no impediment to speaking truthfully about them; the four kinds of fearlessness are individually and correctly realized. Fifth is Dharani: The characteristic of Dharani is to hold onto the words and meanings of the Dharma without forgetting them, through unlost mindfulness and mindful engagement. Its divisions are: the Dharani that is the cause of obtaining patience 1, and the Dharani of mantra 2, Dharma 3, and meaning 4. Therefore, by focusing on any Dharma and meditating on emptiness, one directly realizes the reality and remains inseparable from it, which is the Dharani that becomes the cause of patience 1. The Dharani of mantra 2 is that which effortlessly accomplishes all desired meanings merely through the means of words. The Dharani of Dharma 3 is that which holds onto all the words of the Dharma that one has heard without forgetting them. The Dharani of meaning 4 is that which does not forget their meaning; these are called the four doors of Dharani. Sixth is Exhaustion: The characteristic of Exhaustion is the samadhi that expands the limitless appearance of objects based on meditative concentration, together with wisdom. Its divisions are: "Four elements: earth, water, fire, and wind; four colors: blue, yellow, red, and white; space and consciousness; the Exhaustion birthplaces are of ten kinds." Therefore, the objects of focus are earth 1, water 2, fire 3, and wind 4, which are the four elements; blue, yellow, red 7, and white, which are the four colors; space 9, which belongs to the Dharma birthplace; and consciousness 10, which belongs to the mind birthplace. By continuously and extensively expanding the focus on these ten, the samadhi that makes them appear as such, together with wisdom, are called the ten kinds of Exhaustion, such as the earth birthplace. Seventh is Overpowering: The characteristic of Overpowering is to control shapes and colors as desired based on meditative concentration, and to naturally overpower the object of focus. Its divisions are: "By perceiving the formless as form, small 1 and 2, large 3, the four Overpowerings; by knowing the formless, the four colors 6; by Overpowering, these are eight." Therefore, by perceiving the inner as formless, one observes the small 1 external forms in that way, and knows by overpowering those forms. By overpowering, one sees, and similarly, one observes the large 2 external forms in that way. By perceiving the inner as form, the external form
