The third chapter from the Teaching on Averting Death, composed by Chuk Drakpa. 2. Showing the commitment to explain the inner averting of death. Now, concerning the averting of death, From the two experts, the one with inner essence, Whoever strives to avert death internally, I shall explain it definitively. 2. Free from the fear of kings, thieves, great demons, Tigers, and so forth, Dwelling in pleasant places, such as mountains, away from crowds, Eating moderately and speaking little, Walking very gently, not going about noisily, not difficult, Keeping sleep short, dwelling much in the contemplation of averting death, Striving greatly in the recitation of the mantra of averting death, Offering to one's own chosen deity and so forth, And the activity of reciting the sacred Dharma, Giving torma and so forth, with loving Kindness and compassion in the mind, strive in the three times. 3. Endowed with meritorious deeds, strive in meritorious deeds, and through instructions and so forth, gradually, desires are truly accomplished through merit. Therefore, strive in merit. Through faith, all is truly accomplished. Therefore, increase all faith. Through diligence, what is begun is accomplished. Therefore, make diligence the forerunner. Through contemplation, the desired result is stabilized, so strive single-mindedly in contemplation. By abandoning crowds, practice increases. Therefore, completely abandon crowds. All is accomplished by possessing correct knowledge. Therefore, possess knowledge and all qualities. From death, suffering is seen. From life, the flourishing of Dharma is seen. Since doubt separates from the body, Always practice averting death. 4. Of these, first, with contemplation. How to do it: in a secluded place, as described above, from the discipline of body and speech to possessing wisdom, abide in that. Oneself, as the wrathful one, the pride of the executioner enemy, in the heart, on a lotus and sun, from Hūṃ(藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), emanate light and invite all obstructors, enemies, gurus, and Buddhas to the sky in front. To that, perform the seven branches, from prostration and offerings to confession, rejoicing, refuge, generating bodhicitta, showing the path, and dedication, purely. Then, as explained in the chapter on purifying emptiness in the Four Seats, meditate on emptiness. From the state of emptiness, on a lotus and sun, from Hūṃ(藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), rays of light emanate outwards, accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings. Gathering inwards, marked with a vajra Hūṃ(藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽), that is, the subtle body emanates outwards and gathers inwards, creating obstructors and enemies. Prostration.

Right hand holding a vajra, left hand forming a threatening mudra, body color blue, generate. Here, all the butter generation stages are generated according to this very ritual. Finished. The secret mantra to dispel obstructing demons and enemies should be recited a hundred thousand times a day. By reciting well and performing a hundred thousand fire offerings, all obstructing demons can be dispelled. Nama samanta kaya. Then the words "Baga ne ze da." Vajra nama namo vajra. Say the word "Krotaya." Maha da, recite the word "Gahata." Bhairava ya ma si recite. Musala para shu pa. Grihi haha hastaya sound. Om amrite kundali. The words kha kha khahi khahi. After the word tistha tistha, bandha twice and hana twice, daha twice and gardza twice, then bisphotaya twice. Bhairava ya asi recite. The words sarva vajra and, bibha binayaka recite. The words maha ganapati. Jivitan karaya. Hum hum phat phat svaha. This mantra dispels obstructing demons. Or, by the essence of this mantra, all obstructing demons can be dispelled. As before, with mantra and fire offering, the power of this mantra is also the same. Om, first hulu hulu, then the words tistha tistha. Hana twice and daha twice, gardza gardza after that, bisphotaya recite twice. Sarva rmi binayaka na. Om amrite hum hum hum phat phat phat mama raksha kuru svaha. This is the samadhi of subduing obstructing demons and enemies with vajra. In this way, it shows how to subdue with the samadhi of the deity of one's own desire. Demons and obstructing demons, all completely cleared without confusion, subdue with the samadhi of the deity of desire, how does the deity appear, the yogi of desire, one by one, practice day and night. 5 The five Tathagatas are shown to subdue with blissful passing away, there, Vairochana Buddha dwells in Akanishta, performing the deeds of the peaceful Buddha. On a lotus moon seat, sitting in vajra posture, possessing the seal of perfect enlightenment, radiating white light, visualize the white Vairochana Buddha, there should be no death in samsara. The four Buddha mothers are also the same, Akshobhya Buddha and other Tathagatas, possessing their respective colors and mudra postures, visualize steadfast pride, one will surely attain the vajra body. 6 It shows how the Lord of the World subdues. Residing within the heart joined together, the Lord of the World is indestructible.
